It's been a long time since I've last checked. (I never said anything back then either.) But anyway, first of all, I'd like to say brilliant job on everything so far... The Reasource Pack, the UI Pack... Very easy installs, more organized than last time, etc... The new texture packs are looking awesome as well, much better than the standard Doom2Retex stuff, these are so much nicer now... Great...

Now, for my questions;

1. Does anybody know where to get those updated Map (Intermission) files for Episodes 1-3 of Doom/Ultimate Doom? Those were great, but I was semi-disappointed not to see them in the UI project.

2. I'm in the process of redoing all of my Doomsday stuff totally, fresh installs, etc... So, where does the Music folder go again? Also, where can I find a complete soundtrack in .mp3, not .ogg?

The music folder goes right in your Doomsday dir. Nothing special.
And why not ogg? Ogg is superior. Anyway, there is a doom soundtrack done in mp3, I have it, but I don't know where I got it. Sorry dude. Hopefully somone else knows where.

*Sigh* Guys I just typed up my responce then hit the damn "Reset Form" button instead of "Submit Reply" - God! Why do we need that there anyway!!!

Ok. --- Starting again.

Thank you for the responces guys... I hope we can find where the maps went.

Tylenol - I asked for MP3 instead of Ogg, only because I like listening to them, so I recognize the track, and then replacing it with one from a different series or selection. I don't know about the tech of either format, other than MP3 is easier for me to listen to.

For example, I like the 3DO Doom's E1M8 track better than the standard track. The beat-hit is replaced with an actual bell chime recording, and in my opinion, seems to fit better with the solice of the level, and the whole demonic presence of the world. The level is great, so simple, so evil. The music fits perfectly. Lonely, and sorrowful but sinister.

Metal sonic
I would also be interested in rightfields updated intermissions- if you could upload them with a link it would be much appreciated.

The pre-final release version of the jDUI 2 has the intermisssion maps in anyway -here- (ftp://slidespace@server1.thefourwinds.net/resources/jdoom/jdui/jdui.pk3.zip) - I will finalise that pack I've just been busy - note this doesn't have the installer yet so stick it in the auto folder.

You can find mp3 files there: http://www.doomworld.com/classicdoom/info/music.php?wad=remix

Or here: Doom mp3 Soundtrack http://www.doomsdayhq.com/files.php?class=4&type=2

didnt you have to shrink the images to fit it i the jdui pack?

The jDUI is a normal pk3 file there is no file size limit for it to fit in (that matters in these terms anyway) - I did optimise the filesize but only in a non-lossy way (using progressive compression) and certainly without resizing them but I do that to all images within the jDUI i.e. there is certainly no image quality reduction.

That version of the jDUI is fully working - I just want to add some more images before calling it job done.

Just play the ogg files in winamp, and use Oggdrop XPD from www.vorbis.com to encode. Simple.

Not to mention that Ogg is Free and better than MP3

If I'm putting my own mp3s in the folder, what names do I use to get them to work?

It doesn't matter, you'd have to alter the ded to reflect the change

The Link for the DooM II Mp3 Soundtrack by Ashley Carr doesn't work, unfortunately.

ded files are not hard to do, they are just renamed text files

for example this is the contents of one I got from a friend

Thank you for the help, guys.

I downloaded Ashley Carr's DooM I Remixes, I guess I had a different / older version last time I had Doomsday installed, because these seemed totally new, alot better.

They captured the sinister ambience, scary stuff of like the N64 tracks, but at the same time, had the cool songs from the Doom PC tracks. Awesome. - It even came with a .ded! Yay!

All "Problems" solved so far. Thank you for all your help guys. I know I don't say much, and when I do, it's 76% irretating, but I really appreciated the responces.
