Is there anyway i can turn doom totally 3D (3d hud and models etc.) without using openGL??

i would expect a way to use direct x and have software rendering, similar to quake 2 or quake... but i dunno anything about making it work

This site has a 3D sourceport for Doom. I hope you already know about it, considering a whole forum is dedicated to it.

Anyway, the only thing that isn't in 3d, is the HUD. But people are already making models for that too. Hopefully that will be a feature to implement soon.

In which case Vavoom is the only choice. It's got models and coloured dynamic lighting in SW. Amazingly, it has modern-style lightmap lighting even in software. No other port can boast this, even the accelerated ones.

Shame it comes with a shitload of bugs though.
