Ok, straight to the point. I'm currently working on a Doom2 TC, using the Doomsday game engine. The name of it will be 'Unto Hell' (the more observant of you will have gathered that from the title).

The TC will span about 40 maps, set on the remote jungle world of Callax. The TC will include: new textures, enemies, flats and hopefully weapons and items. At the minute, it will be finished 'when its done', but I don't say that like Id Software say with Doom 3.

I am planning to add as many new enemies as there are in Doom 2, keeping the originals of course, as well. All of these will be kept secret to near the release date.

All the maps have a plan, which is speeding up the mapping progress greatly, but the maps usually end up looking completely different, and have lots more architecture.

I don't have any webspace at the minute, I tried Angelfire, bu I couldn't get it to work, so I gave up. I'll most probabaly have a webpage within 1-2 months, unless someone can host me, which will greatly speed up my webpage creation.

MAP01 is done, with MAP02 being extended, MAP03 is done, just fiddling with item placement at the minute. MAP04 is done, and its pretty hard, that is starting with a pistol, on Ultra Violence (and so it should be). MAP20 has been restarted, with a ton more architecture, and being extended, whilst MAP17, 18, and 27 have had a starter. I have also implemented my first new enemy as well, with some success, what a brilliant game engine Doomsday is :)

BTW, this is an advancement of the 'A new TC may be Looming' thread, meaning, its actually going to happen.

Ok this is a new project, sounds good to me so i think i could provide hosting for it. The only thing that shouldn't happen is that the project get's abbandoned (site will be shut down immidiately).

Hope this get's any good:)

Ok, Ok, at last, some updates. I had to reformat this comp, because of Virus/Spyware problems, that disabled Norton Anti Virus 2004. It was a good job that I've got all the files on both comps :)

Right then, the start to MAP02 has been completely revamped) and thus looks much better than the original (and not like the original E1M2 (ahhh!)). I'm still working on MAP20, its now 420k (minus new textures), and I've made a small start on MAP08, which is more of a test than anything.

I've mainly been working on the new sprites, of which, I've finished all of the frames for 3 of the new enemies, as well as writing some .deds to go with them, although they are not functional at the minute (they appear ingame, but thats about it).

Thanks for the offer WAK, but I'll take it up later, when the project has got something more solid behind it (and when the end is near being in sight), but a small site with some upgrades info, screenshots etc would be good, talk to you some time.

Ok glad you are progressing nicely, my project ran on shore for awhile due to bad set-up of plans:(

Hope to fix that problem soon:D

Well, some things cannot be predicted, no matter how well set up the plans for it are. The one thing that really stands in the way of me completing this TC, is coding the weapons, and possibly the new enemies. But I doubt it would do though, but I haven't had any experience with .dlls yet, or XG (the flags look complicated, but the concept seems simple).

Just informing people that the project is still alive, but will be put on hold for a month or so, due to upcoming exams, and the fact that I just got a Radeon 9800pro (the novelty will wear off soon). I've done a bit of mapping for MAP09, and a bit more on MAP02, as well as making some new textures.

Okay, I'm back, after a brief mapping dryspell, several birthday parties, moving house etc. I've finally got back around to mapping. Oh yeah, XIII had something to do with the dryspell as well, which I picked up for a fair £15. I also bought the Totally Unreal compilation for a respectable £10, despite owning Unreal Tournamnet, and having completed Unreal twice, but losing the disc.

Anyway, more to the point, my mapping dryspell has finally been washed away with a monsoon of ideas, which came to me whilst playing the Alien Vendetta megawad. Doomsday on my computer had kept on restarting it every time I played Doom 2, which I found out was a sound problem, after I unchecked one of the boxes.

My ideas came to me while I was playing MAP24 (because I heard it was hard in the text file), I was playing it UV pistol start, and got some way into it, but tiredness was tugging at my eyelids, so I went to bed.

After getting home from work the next day (yes, I have got a job now *shocked*). I promtly open Doom Builder, and continued work on MAP20, adding about 200Kb's worth of new stuff, as well as fixing other, minor issues in a few other maps, which just bothered me a bit, knowing that they're there.

With MAP20, I changed the route through the map, making it slightly more streamlined, and with less backtracking, and added a ton of new areas and architecture. The map is now almost as I envisioned it, and I'm going to continue to work on it tonight, just a bit of verticle texture alignment and sector tagging to do.

I have actually added a lot of cool stuff without XG, but I'm going to replace it with XG anyway, to keep the map clean, because it makes the nodes messy.

The map actually contains about 350 enemies, with more being needed. They don't come at you in great hordes like in AV, but the map is big, and needs to be filled, otherwise I'd be boring. Anyway, I like the way they come at you in hordes in AV *crazy*.
