well...I just formatted my HD because of a virus that didn't let me login to my XP user, and installed linux without figuring out if there is a way to run doom connector in linux...
If there is..how? :P
I want to at least be able to get on and talk although i lost my doom cd and lost the wad :P

Doom Connector is a native Win32 application. So the only thing that you can try is running it is by using Wine (I think) to simulate Windows.

well i tried wine but it wouldn't open the SETUP...:(
thanks for the advice though...and i dont feel like buying the WIN for LindowsOS..

btw..how do they make Linux versions of programs? looking at zdaemon it looks like they just took the source of it and crammed it into a few files or something..(/me things codeimp or someone should make a linux version of DC)

I've heard that in order to make an application work on another operating system, you need to get the source code and compile it on your OS (or something like that, please correct me if I am wrong here people.) Just don't ask me how. I already own Windows XP.
