All right here's where I am (in terms of system specs)
900Mhz AMD Duron CPU
256Mb SDRAM
Built in sound (don't know the company, or drivers)
30Gb HDD
64Mb DDR NVidia Geforce2 4x AGP (I know it sucks)

And here's where I hope to be (by years end)
(READ: No I do not want to run Doom ]I[ on this rig, nor do I plan to)
AMD Athlon XP-2400 2.0Ghz
512 DDR RAM
Built in sound (5.1 surround on this mother...board)
Same HDD (Maybe an upgrade later, if you guys know of any deals on a bigger HDD for a reasonable price, just drop a line in this thread)
Same Video Card (I play Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide contantly, it only requires 64Mb Video, in my opinion I think its the CPU thats slowing down this game now it requires 800Mhz CPU, maybe an upgrade for Hordes of the Underdark, 128Mb Video)

So, any opinions or personal experiences with some of the hardware I listed here (either good or bad ones) list them here. I'm not rich and neither is my family so this upgrade is going have to last me a while.

I would most defently grab a better video card something with atleast 128 meg. You can grab a GF 5200 cheap these days. The rest would due for a while. Check out Tiger Directs Bare Bones systems. You may be able to better for less.

I'll check out that FX 5200 at Froogle (http://froogle.google.com). Damn good site, found all those components with it as well. Now I pulled up a search through Froogle and should I go for the 256Mb or the 128Mb card both are in my ballpark, and should I look into any variations NVidia does to their chipsets like Ultra, SE, SP, etc. I'm just lookin' to get the most bang for my buck.

Oh by all means go 256 if you can, I'm running a GF 5200 FX 256meg now, and it works great.

Nah, the high end cards barely benefit from the extra memory so its just basically for marketing for the low end cards. And LE=slower XT=slower for Nvidia, faster for ATI SE=slowest Pro=faster Ultra=faster but you knew that one.

Hey Looney Thanks for telling me about TigerDirect, I almost spent $20 more on a motherboard with some extra stuff I didn't even need (like 5.1 surround sound, never could afford a got set of 5.1 speakers anyway :).)
