Here's a panoramic picture I've just done, pictures taken last year only had the time to put them together recently

Did you use a special software for that, or did you just stick the pictures together at the right points? A software for panoramic pictures came with my digicam, but I never tried doing this... yet.

Using the software that came with me camera, does it automatically but you get better results if you then tweak the joins by hand.

Oooooooh, I didnt install the software that came with my cam. (canon powershot A70) If you have a powershot too, that's a sweet program! Ill have to get the disc out that came with it!

Do you just turn around and snap a bunch of pics and hope they line up half decent or is there some other funkyness you need to do?

Basically that's all you do, the Canon Powershot camera's have a panoramic mode, which shows you the edge of the previous picture on the LCD to make it easier to see how far you need to turn. A tripod/monopod is also handy to make sure you don't get too much vertical variation between shots, but a steady hand does just as well.

You need to make it full 360 degrees, so you can create bunch of cool doom backgrounds
