I've been playing this for a week or so now. I've never played the original, so I don't know how it stacks up - but I didn't really enjoy it too much. Probably because I suck at it and couldn't quite get into the game.

Maybe it's cause it's for now just tech demo... ...You saw just the tactical part.

In the original game, you managed your bases, can buy a lot of stuffs, find new weapons & new stuff about aliens with your scientists... ...and your soldiers will be improved with a system like in RPGs.

They plan to add theses features and a lot of new fun stuff (why not a doomguys team ...)

I think the main problem was, really, that I'm just not too good at these kinds of games :)

I'll definitely give it a really good try once multiplayer is avaliable.

You need to have played the originals to really get into it, namely UFO (X-Com) Enemy Unknown and X-Com Apocalypse. Terror from the deep IMO was just an underwater rehash of the original and I didn't really like it that much, but it's worth a play if you're interested.

Downloading this "Techinical Demo" Right now.

Speaking of X-com, is X-com Appocolypse now considered freeware, knowing that they are not selling it at they're website, AND it is no longer in stores? I've been trying to look for a copy, (I don't trust E-bay at all) and can't find it anywhere. If it is freeware, is there someplace I can download it besides Kazza?

For now, Xcom 3 is not a freeware nor an AbandonWare, they still sell it...

Else 'UFO:enemy unknown' & 'Terror from deep' are avaibles on some Abandonware sites (just do a google)...

If they still sell X-com 3, where can I buy it? It isn't at any of the video game stores that I usually go to, and I went to Microprose.com, and couldn't even find a trace of evidence pointing that they even touched the game.

I was playing the X-com game THEY made today, and all I have to say is: Beautiful, but AMAZINGLY hard. I still haven't been able to kill one enemy.
