no matter how hard i look, i cant seem to find the internet cache for firefox. i dont know if its right underneath my nose or what, but i cant find it. would any of you mozilla users happen to know where it is?

i know its there somewhere because it has an empty cache options. it just wont tell you where it is.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\default\rt6476nt.slt\Cache
I'm running 2003 server, but, this where it is on my comp. Same on Windows 2000/XP

thanks for the help. i found it, but all of the files are unreadable. theyre just "files". how can i read them? theyre all gobbledy gook

tru dat metal_sonic. and i figured out that you can open the files with mozilla firefox application. just right click and select open with.

Although saying that IE is for homo's is a bit harsh, I do agree that Firefox is a lot better then IE, both in security, speed useablility and compatability (most pages that don't display well in Fireox aren't conform any webdesign standards which IE doesn't take too serious anyway).

In the address box type about:cache
This tells you were it is, click on the links will give you a list of what's in it.
They aren't gobbledy gook but have just had their extension stripped off them, you need a program which can scan them and figure out what they are. For pictures I use
ACD (http://www.acdsystems.com/English/index.htm) which scans a directory looking for pictures and movies etc.

thanks for the link al, now all i want to know is how to find .swf's in the cache, if it even stores them.

Yes it does store swf files as well, I've used it to grab them in the past.
Remember the filename or sitename for the SWF file, do about:cache get the full list of files in the cache.
Do a find (ctrl-f) on the page look for filename or sitename or just swf extension.
Click on its link when you've found it.
It will tell you the cryptic filename it has in the cache and you can go find it and rename it back to something.swf
