I know it's used for wads to work with such programs as Legacy, but can it also be used for Doomsday, or is it not necessary?

Yeah, it works for everything and I use it for everything because it generates the fastest and smallest nodes. You don't have to use it because DDay supports GL nodes.

I've run external wads in Doomsday, without creating GL Nodes with GLBSP before, and not had any real problems, exept that missing textures are not actually 'fixed', they are just holes, like in Legacy (no HOM).
Zennode has to be the best non-GL nodes builder though
