View Full Version : The Band Pantera and Doom1,2 music?

I have a question,what person or band helped in creating the music for doom and doom2.Because i cant help but notice the similarity between some of the songs from the band "Pantera" and some of the songs in doom and doom2.For example the doom1 song on E3M1 sounds exactly like the pantera song "Mouth For War".The similarity if you hear "mouth for war" when the main rythm starts is exactly like the doom song.There is also some others that have similaritys to Pantera Songs,that song is the only one where the similarity is so obviouse.

From what I have heard, they employed some guy to make music that was appropriate for the game, based on recent music. There is some pantera, and I think I recognize some slayer in there too. I may be wrong, but mouth for war is definitely in there, as are four others that I can't name now.

no wonder after playing doom i heard pantera and started to like there music, because it reminded me of something.

heh, they're not really satanic. Just a popular misconception about everybody's favorite thrash metal band.

Most of their songs are about war anyway. And if they are religious, they're just pointing out flaws in christianity. Not by any means satanic tho...

and yeah they use some hell imagery too, but thats what the christian stick is all about. Its really just christian rock.

Damn thats one of my favorite doom2 songs.Whats the name of the Slayer version,i have to see how they play it.I know Doom2 map23 is a Alice in chains song i thinks its "Them Bones."

It's only the drums at the beginning that are really recognisable, but anyway the track is South of Heaven.
