Yes, i delete a lot of double files, remove the old Md2 folder (Now use only jDPR 1.01 + some alternative particle effect + New BFG sparks and Danj Cyberdemon Hi-Skin), and converted the texture in 8 bit format (of course, I leave the tex whit transparence at 32-Bit).

I still dont think "DooM Remake" is a good name... It's not a remake, it's an enhancement. A remake would be if you made the game again from scratch, not if you added stuff to the original.

Good work on keeping the pack updated. It seems to get a little more organized with every update. And I'm glad you're using the new model pack.

Just tried the mod. I like what's been done with it (I don't care for some of the weapon models, but I can tell that they're not part of the Remake/Renewal project and I can easily drop in Abbs's weapon models), but I had a weird problem. I played it, but it corrupted my display when I quit. Fortunately, I still had control of the system. I was able to blindly open a command prompt, switch to fullscreen and then back and that fixed the problem, but that's a weird bug.

I just finished downloading it and I love the quality. I also love the extra pack you threw in, all those extra levels like throwing in a copy of doom64, all we need is a side scroller doom and we will have it all, I think this would make a great doom collection road pack for those extra long trips, ya wont want to forget yer laptop.

Hmm...
Any possibility of getting permission to use Abbs's improved weapon models rather than the old ones based upon the old sprites (which don't translate well to 3D modelling, IMO)?
It would be really nice to see abbs's mods combined with the 'hand motion' present in "DOOM Remake"

Don’t worry Dimensio, Indrema doesn’t believe he needs to get permission to use anything. I cant speak for everyone else, but he certainly didn’t ask for any prior permission from me at all. I agree whole heartedly with Sambo9000, Doom Remake is not a good name at all for this pack and nor is Renewal as this does in fact imply that this is a completely new and first time release created by Indrema ... I would say something more like along the lines of Doom: Reclaimed or Doom: The Collection of Doom Community Creations Zipped and Repackaged under Indrema's Name. Can I ask why you took down the credits page on your website Indrema? And similarly, why my name was never mentioned on that credit page at any time? Why the music is under Dj Redlight in these forums and why you decided to rename my work from doom remixes to doom music?? Big difference dude, i remixed the tracks from the originals by Bobby Prince. Dude you shouldn't have taken it upon yourself to take my work and rename it. It was not released as Doom Music, and it was not released under Dj Redlight, and due to your undertaking, you get people like Metal_Sonic who appears to be claiming that the mp3s are by you, Indrema. http://www.jdql.tk
For anyone who is interested, the Doom 1 and 2 remixes by Ashley Carr are available at the doomsday hq in the music section. http://www.doomsdayhq.com/files.php?class=4&type=2

Agreed ashley, i know i can't speak for you here alot Ash but in alot of ways about the credit and not asking is a bit uncareful.
It's really a bummer when someone in fact takes your work instead of asking to use it.

I understand...
The credits are aviable in a .txt file inside DooM Remake, at the bottom of main screen i wrote "www.newdoom.com" and not "www.indrema.it", the credit's screen is now "work in progres" and i update it in the next version.
I want make a credit page on my site soon at possible and don't want take the works of other under my name.
Think so "DooM Music" are more clear than "DooM Remixes" in a credit list, but if you want i can change it and the name.
I have not only Repackaged the jDooM Resources, i have mixed it for make the better, simple and functional jDooM installation as possible. My collection is a tribute for the greates DooM Comunity and taken me A LOT of time, is NOT for my personal glorification.
Anyway excuse for any Misunderstanding.
Attention: DooM 2 remixes by Ashley Carr are actualy not hosted by 3D Download.

I hope this all gets straitened out because I want to see mroe packs like this. I sure hope we get updated monsters with more definition aswell as a more scary look (imp is looking great with that throwing fireball and particle effects which kick ass, just make the fireball a little more scary). I can't wait to see some more scary monsters. I also can't wait to see some more maps (besides the originals) that are longer then 10 levels. Keep up teh good work.

Just as a reminder: The jDEP version in this pack is unsupported as is any of my other stuff in there. For some time now I've been recommending using the real packs as advice to those who email me on such issues.
Also don't post in Tech Support on the problems with this - it only confuses the Newbies.

A list of the lite and full contents would be helpful before downloading such a big file- i.e. if you alredy have the jdtp textures and flats and the doom2 textures are you just duplicating material with the "remake" or is there much new material.

Hmmm I'm skeptical about this whole thing. If I download the jDEP/jDRP/jDUI/jDTP plus Sambo's sounds and the new intermission screens, is there a reason for this pack?
Why not write a small program (in VB for example) that simply takes the URLs of the above packs and downloads them for you into a folder. URL's could be stored in a small ini file and you could check off the bits you want updated instead of downloading this massive lump every time.
Think of it as a sort of DoomUpdate, like WindowsUpdate.
Hmmm. In fact, I might write one myself.
When I had my JDoom Resource page here on newdoom.com I resisted the urge to package too much together because of continuous updates.

My collection is a tribute for the greates DooM Comunity and taken me A LOT of time, is NOT for my personal glorification.
I could have let this be, but what an arrogant thing to say. You only need to do a google search to see just how far he is prepared to go with distributing this under the implied impression that this work is his idea and creation. Here are some translated links, but by all means everyone go and check some of this out for yourselves, just google +Indrema "Doom Remake" and see for yourselves, you'll find dozens of websites with this either hosted or linked. How can you say this is not for your glorification when you have sent the link to your website and name all over the net.

If you read the description on this page, nowhere does it say anything about the doom community, or mention any of the people who's hard work and dedication went into this "remake".

This page even goes as far as claiming that the entire remake was produced by indrema. Similarly giving no mention to any of the people who actually created it.

This particular page allows people to BUY this "remake" on cd for 180 rubles or about 12 Australian dollars. Once again with no mention of the doom community, or the fact that none of this work is actually his to sell.

I must say that I'm not impressed or happy about this at all. On most of the pages I looked at there isn't even a mention of Doomsday let alone Skyjake.
I'm now going to download this and see for myself exactly how much work indrema has put into it. But I sincerely doubt it's any where near the amount of work the rest of the community has put in.
If your so interested in updating Doom, how come we only ever see you in the forums when your annoucing the latest version of the remake?
Also why haven't you contacted the authors of the work your distributing? You didn't ask me, or Ashley, you MUST have asked Skyjake though... surely?

February 27th, 2004, 10:38 AM
I'm glad you brought that up I wasn't particulary happy about this 'remake' anyway but this goes too far I won't speak for anyone else but I expect the jDEP materials (skyboxes) my textures (marble face textures) and anything else of my creation to be removed from this pack.
It was bad enough you didn't even attempt to ask permission first let alone the rest of this. I know you'll probably claim that you had no control/input over these websites but you've certainly made it clear you're the 'main man' while the people who actually did all the work are consigned to being second tier members (check slidespace for example - I list other peoples credits on an even footing with my own - usually putting other's first so people won't get confused - and my credits are for stuff I actually did - what exactly did you 'Design' anyway? from what I can see you didn't even do simple stuff like colour balancing).
And as for you putting a lot of time into this collection - I frankly fail to see how - all the packs are designed to interoperate already and custom DEDs, texture lists, Music lists are all already available - to me it looks more like a normal doomsday install with a quick new titlescreen (complete with misspellings) with your name on.
When you first suggested a rollup I thought you meant like the jDUI etc... i.e. simply what was available with no spin on it. That in no way is what you did.

Bare in mind people that he isn't selling it (AFAIAA). One of the sites it is hosted at is offering to charge you £10 to put on cd and send it to you (a lot of sites do this and it's legal unfortunetly).
I've now tried it out and my impression of it hasn't changed.
From what I've seen, all you've done is cherry pick other peoples work from multiple packs and repackage them. That in itself is fine if you have the authors permission but you obviously don't.
The fact that you've put your name/branding on titlescreen is very insulting to all the authors that have spent so long making the stuff in the first place. If anyones names should be on the title screen it should be the iD boys and Jaakko.
Please remove all my original work from Doom Remake.
Since Cheb and the SOG team arn't around, I'd ask you to remove theirs too. Obviously you can keep anying that is based on artwork by iD because iD will own the copyright even though I created it (eg the titlepic I made thats in the jDUI).
Think on this:
I'm a designer/artist who is looking to break into the vg industry. The only thing I have is my art and my copyright. I'm using Doomsday as a canvas/shop window to "sell" myself/my art.
I'm VERY pissed off about the fact that you've put MY WORK in YOUR portfolio! Please remove it immediately!
EDIT: This is from your remake page (babelfish translated):
"This job has been carried out in collaboration via Internet with the virtual community of the situated NewDoom.com, and indirectly directed from me."
Utter BS. We haven't collaborated on anything. You took my work without asking and are pimping it around as your own. If you doing this to benefit the community by promoting the people who worked on it then I would have said fair enough.
Thanks for bringing this up Ashley.

Hi guys, I'm retourned today from a little holiday.
I respect a lot yours work, and so I try to make the "DooM Remake" a good project for this comunity and indrema.it a good place for it.
The "DooM Remake" has take a lot of my free time and I never thinking to find a job or make money whit this, this "Compilation" is for me only an Hobbies.
Some guys of this comunity is disappointed for my credit page or for the title screen of "DooM Remake", the Build 112 relased 2/23/2004 has the same image of jDUI and a new credit.
After a couple of e-mail whit Skyjake, I decide to change the name of project to "DooM Remake" in "DooM Remake: jDooM Comunity Compilation".
Excuse if i don't contacting the authors before the publish of "DooM Remake", but i never thinking to make this type of problem whit a freeware product.
Dani remove your work take a lot of time, i can't make a new Build of my project in short time, so for now I remove every download from my site.
Excuse a lot to All Comunity.
At the moment "DooM Remake" is in yours hands, I think so this was a good project and can become the full pak needing by all jDooM comunity to reach the Mainstream and the Casual Gamers.
DaniJ
February 28th, 2004, 03:58 PM
I have no problem about you including my work as long as you give credit where it's due and make sure people understand that this is a compilation.
I do think that a jDoom+Resources compilation is a good idea but you can't give people the impression that it's your own work. It would also be appropriate to provide links to all related sites eg DHQ, TheModelYard, SlideSpace, Chilvence's File Hovel, NewDoom etc.
You obviously appreciate the work everyone has done and I know why you've made this pack. Promoting it in the right circles is also benefical to everyone involved as long as people are aware exactly what each person is responsible for.
I haven't yet got around to building a proper credits page for the jDRP yet but I fully intend to list everyone and their work on the new modelyard. If you wish you can put that in the credits of the remake or a link to it.

jDoom community pack sounds a lot more like the name it should have, it is much more likely to attract people to the site and find out a bit more, which is what we want.
The "Doom Remake" title doesnt hold any charm, people just download it on fileplanet or some other download whoring system and then just check back on fileplanet to see if the little invisible band inside the radio has made any more music. We're not a service, we are a community devoted to the same thing, and we should act in a way that benefits ourselves.
So, If you include an "About" document in the download, in html to make it easily read, with a little explanation of the work that is going on and the people who are doing it and why, then it becomes a much better prospect. It should encourage people to the community, and give a bit of fame to pay off all the hard work that Skyjake, Dani, Slide, the incredibly long list of contributors etc put into the contents of the pack.

List the credits page of each piece of the authors work in the credits (along with their name) and put your name in compilation that way you will still have copyright of the compilation (not of other peoples artwork mind you) and since you all are in a way sharing the pack, ti would be considered a joint copyright. I suggest if anyone wants their work then they sign a forum (online) stating so and giving indrema permission to use the artwork for the better of JDooM.
Second. How about the readme file and the installation page in english as well as a way to translate the homepage to english?
I also think that maybe there should be a little more power in what should go in the pack like maybe suggestions or ways to improve it and maybe have a limited system that NewDoom community can vote on certain things without crippling the integrity of the pack.

Attention: DooM 2 remixes by Ashley Carr are actualy not hosted by 3D Download.
lol, thats a pretty random thing to say, but here is the link http://3ddownloads.com/doomworld/music/remixes/ashley_carr
Thats the point, a lot of internet file hosting publicate my work without my permission, for example I never hear "http://doomremake.narod.ru/" and their busines don't like me.
For the other links I only Autorized multiplayer.it if offer a free download (whit a totally free registration) and put in they page the link to My site (where you can find the credits page). I'm not write the text of site you have citated and I have no responsability.
Anyway is my intention contact any site or organizzation abuse of "DooM Remake" or yours work for stop it.
At the moment i want totally restart my Porject, for make this more clear and for respect the copyright of every single author.
"DooM Remake" now change name, the new name is "jDoom Community Pack" and for that i make a new section in my site in italian and english, this time whit no mirrors.
Is my intention give at newdoom.com comunity total collaboration.
If you want Ashley the door of new project are opened.

Back on the 22nd when I asked you could you take my remixes off of the doom remake you said:
I remove every links and file contained your work, now is online only the Lite version.
...and this you quite simply haven't done yet, not to mention the fact that you haven't been completely honest about how far this file has been distributed.
a lot of internet file hosting publicate my work without my permission
Its a bitch aint it...
Here are some more locations where the file is being hosted and/or sold...

To name but a few, and this is only after looking for about 10 minutes. I'm sure there are a number more. I want you to replace these files with your lite version...
If you want Ashley the door of new project are opened.
As tempting as it is, I’m going to have to refuse, as our first "collaboration" ended in failure.
But thanks anyway =)

As for the doing a new pack I think you're going to have to go a long way in rebuilding trust before that becomes a possibility - and labelling a thread as 'official' wasn't really a good way to start...
