Hi, I have Downloaded the latest version of Doomsday, and have installed it on both machines i have here, one on XP one on 98se

The network is running fine, and the console says that the client has connected sucessfully.

What happens:

I create the server, and i am in the game - all works fine for me.

the 98se machine attempts to connect, and on my console i can see the machine and on the 98se machine it says it is connected. On the 98se machine the title screen comes up and then the credits for Doom - and then a demo of the map.

Any key pressed on the 98se machine causes the menu to appear.

The same happens if the 98se machine hosts and the XP machine tries to join, only in reverse.

I tried to see if there was a respawn key or something, as i think this isnt a tech issue but my blindness or lack of knowledge of how Doom deathmatch/Co-op works.

I juist tried again, and i have the msg that the console puts out when the 98se machine tries to connect.

Sv_PlayerArrives: 'squishy' has arrived.
NetSv_ChangePlayerInfo: pl1, Col=2
Player starting spots:
- pl0: color 0, spot 0
Sv_HandlePacket: Hello from client 1 (05BA8913)
New client connection refused: Duplicate ID (05BA8913)
N_TerminateClient 'Squishy' from console 1.
Sv_PlayerLeaves 'squishy' (console 1) has left.

I have found the problem there obviously, but i have NFI as to what to do...
any help would be appreciated, thanks :D

The sticky post in the technical support forum has this problem listed - simply delete the file client.id from your Doomsday install and rerun the game - it's because you copied your install across your LAN rather than reinstalling it - deleting the file will make Doomsday recreate it.
