What do you mean by this? A DooM enviroinment with Vice City gamplay or Vice City enviroinment with DooM gameplay? Or perhaps a shuffle of them both?

There's a pressing silence in my mind. And I have a sneaking suspicion about where it came from.

I think your idea is a bit utopistic...

it was a cross between a joke and an idea

That would make a horrible DooM mod. DooM's engine was geared towards scary FPS places. Vice City's engine is designed for gangster stuff.

Yes we've seen SSNTAILS sonic mod, and that was more mod than TC. You dont know how much that guy put into the legacy engine, and hes a coder. This in order to even attempt this, you'd need a game plan, a rigid one at that, an experienced coder, and all the graphics. Meaning youd need the 3dmodels, everything.

This whole thing seems really silly. Why are you all responding like this? He wasn't actually proposing that that mod be made, he was just picturing Vice City from the DooM perspective. And you know what? It was a good idea. But no, it can't be made.

Actually, if you use the standard Doom building like in the Industrial Zone level, you could make some decent buildings. I've seen superhero TC's and the cities look cool. The streets and everything are there. You just need to make some custom skins, a little twiddling with Fragglescript for some atmosphere, and an introduction.

It won't be as interesting as the real game, but I've seen mods like Aliens TC, Robocop TC, Half Life Doom, and many more that have a sense to the real game. It'll be interesting to play a Vice City TC, but you won't have the vehicles or the A.I.

And since were on the subject of TC's, has anybody toyed around with an idea for a Halo TC? I've seen Halo TC's done with Unreal Tournament, C&C Generals, and Battlefield 1942. It'd be nice for a Doom Halo.

HyperFlash, you really like halo.
You always turn the conversation to halo somehow :D

Actually though, that Halo TC idea is great! With the new bot AI technology out there, something pretty cool could be done with that. Maybe you could give it a try, HyperFlash! You like editing?

If only I had a faster computer I'd give this a try. I need to come up with a lot of skins for the weapons, senery, enemies, etc. And I have to find a solution for the vehicles. Unless you guys don't mind traveling on foot through huge levels, then it won't be a problem.

Some guy on here PMed me a while ago and asked to see if we could create a Halo TC for Doom 3. I lost his PM so I can't find him. But it would be a killer idea if that would be possible.

I actually like urban maps, like Industrial Zone, and Odysee of Noises.

I like urban maps too. It would be killer if someone made an urban map for Doom 3. You got your hobos(zombies), stray dogs(pinkies), and those annoying creatures in the sewers(everything else).
