Baron from Hell

the new Hell Knight looks awesome, but i've been Wondering about the Baron from hell, hes supposed to be the Baddest Demon there is until you get to the bosses are there any pics of the Baron, he should be similar to the Hell knight in looks anyway?

I think that mancubus is a bit stronger than baron of hell. And we're going to see her in DooM III!

You forget the Braon of Hell was a Boss. The two Barons were the boss of Episode 1.

Oh yea, I remember that Baron of hell was a boss, but still I think that mancubus would kick his arse in 1 vs. 1 fight because mancubus has faster attack rate.

I think that since baron of hell was so popular in DooM I and II, they're going to add it too in DooM III. I would suprise if they wouldn't.

The Baron of Hell will be in. But one thing to consider is, if the huge behemoth is the new Hell Knight - the lesser Baron in the originals - imagine how tough the new Barons are going to be.

Those are just some drawings, it doesn't proove that it's going to be in DooM III. And isn't the guy in the drawings hell knight? Man I can already see baron of hell in DooM III. Big, powerful and goatish :D.

I hope Id includes some of that satanistic stuff in DooM III as we saw in DooM I and II

The Arch-vile: IMAGE The flat face looks really crap to me, as does the tail. If you look close up, the mouth actually looks like that of a monkey - not good. Apart from those two major qualms, it actually looks pretty good; I like the torso, legs and arms.

Can't wait to see it lighting on fire. Me too. The odd thing is, one of the things I am most looking forward to with Doom3's enemies, is hearing the sounds they make. I really hope that ID pull all the punches with the new monster sounds. The original BoH's sight scream is one of my favourite enemy noises of all time.

I don't care about the sounds too much, but things I like to see in DooM III are just as many original monsters as possible and make them somewhat like original. For example I would like to see arch vile resurrecting his fallen comrades to fight again against the poor marine.

It very likely isn't.. That shot was from 2001, and was never even confirmed as being the baron by iD. They assume far too much on that monster page.

I wouldn't trust that much on the monster page. I for myself don't believe that we'll see that arachnotron like boss in the game, more likely spider mastermind will be the boss. Well I couldn't know if the spider in the picture is arachnotron or mastermind but he sure as hell looks like arachnotron. I think we'll just have to wait and see...

Fatal, I would love to see a Demon actually do that in the actual game (Avatar). I suppose it could be done, if you had an invisiblity, and went close quarters near a barrel.

1. Revenant (I think he will surely be in!)

I'm sure the reason no one's heard of the Baron, is because ID has kept hush hush on their bosses. We all assume the cybie'll be in it, but we have no proof. So don't freak out yet. If the baron isn't in it, wait until after the game comes out to riot.

That's right because I said that it WILL SURELY be in. And I think baron of hell and cyberdemon will be in too. Baron may be boss of some kind, and cyberdemon will surely be some kind of boss in the game.

Or then again, remember E3M9? There you just could get the invulnerability and smash cybie with rockets without having to dodge his rockets. It really isn't any kind of boss in that level.

Maybe we can even see the spider mastermind as one of the bosses.

About the other bosses, surely no one has any good idea.

On the bright-ish side, you could run HL2 decently (though, not with best detail) with that. My computer (AMD k6-III 400Mhz) couldn't even do that :-/

thx Nomad, does make me feel better knowing about HL2. cant afford a new puter yet, but even if i could i wouldn't buy 1 now anyway, until they come out with motherboards that support, DDR2,3 memory, and PCI express, with and AMD 64 Athlon.

Yup. The minimum requirements for HL2 will be: 800 MHz Processor (P3 or Athlon), 128 MB RAM*, and a Direct3D Capable 16 MB Video Card.

I've got the Ram and the video card, just not the processor power. Oh well.

My backup compuer would be able to run HL2 decently then. My backup computer is a:

P3-980 MHZ 140FSB
512 MB PC-133 SDRAM
10 GB Maxtor HD
GeForce2 MX 200 Oced to 210/346

(Anyway, to get back on topic)
Leave the Hell Knight the way it is, make the Baron like the original. That would at least let you tell them apart, and would be pretty cool.
