I saw a few year ago (5/6 maybe 7/8) in a
Space Hawk or Warhammer 40000(or a semi-Rpg game like this) manual a huge assault machinegun/ Riffle but i can not find it now ....
It's difficult to explain exactly how it was but i can say it's a compact Assault MachineGun/Riffle with an huge blade in front of... (it's the only thing my failing memory holded)...
I remember it a few days ago and i think it would be an excellent weapon model for DooM.
If someone know something on this weapon or have a picture, it would be great.... ....and maybe a modeller (i know some great in theses forums) would make a model for the DooM ports....
Just an idea but i think it could have a great place in some mod .....:D

Only thing I can think of is a boltgun (http://www.nimbacreations.com/Library/bolter5.jpg). Don't know about the blade though.

Thx but it's not this one, it looks like but i'm sure it had a huge blade (and maybe a grenade launcher but i'm not sure)... ...It was in a game where you entered enemy ships by making a hole in the husk and after you had to kill all aliens in it .....

Space Hulk?
A board game (not video game), you play with dice/die (?) on a board with miniatures.
I'm not sure it was space hulk or Warhammer but it's a game like this... ...I'd must keep its manual but i've lost it and can not find it now....*angry*

I think it was Space Crusade or something like this finally (just a warhammer extension).... .... and the weapon should be named 'fulgurant' (in french)

Finally found the 'fulgurant', it was hard but i'm happy now.... ...just waiting an artist to adapt it now ....
For french reading users, try out this excellent site http://spacecrusade.free.fr/

When i have something on the head, i'm totally mad about it .....
I really loooove this gun, totaly barbaric & terrific aspect i find .....
Note i think 'Boltgun' is the 'english name' of 'Fulgurant', just missing the huge blage (bayonet to be exact)...
Thx to the illustration, DooM_goat, it was very close to original and would be a good starting for an adaptation....

I always really liked the Boltgun design. When it came to Space Crusade though, I went with the aliens.

I just thought of space crusade, but you beat me to it.
Anyway a bolter should be barbaric, it fires 20mm explosive rockets.

There is one english site about Space Crusade.... ....Hope someone would work on this adaptation or i'll try by myself but the result will not be so fantastic cause i'm not modeller....

Tht picture is an Imperial Space Marine in Mk VII Armour with a pre-heresy boltgun. That pictur must be pretty old, because I have Space Hulk, and the box is falling apart. This picture looks pretty old, as it features the old "shark" missile launcher.

The lastest model of the bolgun looks much better, the "Godwyn Pattern" boltgun, it is a bit taller, and longer plus the magazine looks much better.

I've never seen a standard 40K bolter with a bayonet, except for one or two special characters. This is probably because, as far as I remember, the space crusade models were made (in 1990) by MB games, rather than the usual company Citadel Miniatures who produce the entire Games Workshop range.

A cool weapon for DOOM would have to be the Pulse Rife from Aliens.
The version with the grenade launcher. Or maybe put in a SmartGun. Mmm...SmartGun. I came up with a sweet real-world design for a Gauss Rifle. All I need is an electromagnet, an anti-tank rifle, and some flechette rounds...

er, Chaos Space Marines?!?!?!?!?!?

Chaos marines don't count. They just use regular space marine bolters that have been butchered.

Bolter design is so-so. WH40k offers much more interesting weaponry, design- and effects-wise...

Bolter design is so-so. WH40k offers much more interesting weaponry, design- and effects-wise... Half of those look to me like nasty imitations of the Bolter design, and the heavy bolter a nasty sequel.
The plasma cannon looks good though.

I quite like the new(ish) Lascannon design, as they've turned it into a sort of big anti-tank sniper rifle

Hehe ya, Chilvence, that's me.
Btw, I recall posting my Doom Demon texture/painting a while back, but it seems to be removed, along with that thread :]
Plasma weaponry is indeed the more interesting kind, but I really like the Multimelta nozzle.

Hehe, ironically I even posted my own version of that Demon painting - the thread also got wiped out.
The forums were broken into about three months ago, and pretty much everything was deleted, and the only backup was from 6 months before that.
Hey, since you're here, I might as well ask - would you mind if your Doom textures were made part of the official jDoom texture pack? It is in dire need of some quality updates, and all your textures are awesome ;)

Although my textures are probably not exact enough to be used as one-on-one replacements, sure, they may be used.
Provided, ofcourse, they remain unaltered, and credit is given where it is due, for each of the textures used. But that should go without saying, eh? :]

The Q3 Generations mod?
Chilvence
May 6th, 2004, 07:44 AM
Yep, Tab's their resident super-art-master type guy: www.planetquake.com/tabun
This is just some of the good stuff I've seen him work on: http://forums.wireheadstudios.org/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=1214& (read the whole thread, theres plenty more after the 3rd page)
Thanks for your permission Tabun, I'll make sure that your fully credited when I submit them(and of course a link to the Generations mod for those unclean heathens that dont know it yet *grin*). I will only use the Doom textures I see on your website, because I dont know of any others.

Ah, I was only on the generations site the other day, as well.
Nice looking textures there, the Doom and Q2 remakes. The models and skins in the thread rule as well.
