I've been trying to get people to use this service for a while now, but it seems to not be catching. So I've taken it upon myself to start uploading the main packs for JDoom up to fileplanet. I've successfully uploaded the resource pack, and next I hope to get the texture packs up.

In a few days or so, Jdoom should have it's own section up on Fileplanet. Yes, some of you have voiced concerns about waiting periods and such, but if anything it's a secure and reliable download source with good speeds. It's always good to have a backup...

I would really wait till the packs are stable - the jDRP is being updated in a few days so it'll only have to be done again - same for the the jDUI and the jDTP. The engine itself is getting a point upgrade (1.7.14 Final) and the new 1.8.

The jDEP is fairly stable though I suppose but the timing isn't really very good even if the idea isn't bad - maybe in two weeks would be better?

That's cool with me. What would you recommend uploading for the time being?

Like I say the jDEP 2 (Core and extension - though i guess I could do an all in one version) is stable and Skyjake has just released what will probably be the lastrelease of the 1.7 branch (1.7.14.2).

The rest will not be ready for a little while depending on the specific authors.

im not trying to be smart, but dont Sourceforge.net have a whole set of mirrors that u can download the doomsday stuff from, i never liked fileplanet myself, its too busy, but if u dont mind that sort of mirror, then Telstra can mirror files for games (http://files.bigpond.com/ and http://games.bigpond.com/), and another place u might want to look at is Savannah (http://savannah.gnu.org/)
