zdaemon 56k

i know this is probably a stupid question, but is there anyway i can keep my ping to under 150 or 200 with a 56k modem? i mean, is there another program that i can use that doesn't require as fast a modem? any suggestions would be great.

You got the best buddy. I had little problems back in the pre 1.0 days with 56k so you should be okay. Try typing rate 4000 in the console.

The command is "rate 4000". In the console. You bring down the console by pressing the key to the left of "1", directly below "Esc".
