I was just wondering if anyone here knew how to capture your video feed from the game as you play a level and be able to watch it as a video in Doom or Doom2. That would be great if anyone knew.

If you talking about .avi movies, Fraps (www.fraps.com/) is greating for recording ingame video on mostly any computer game to date. Just follow the instructions to learn how to record and your set.

i delved into the advanced options in the doom 2, 95 version, menu before you start the game and found a built-in demo recorder since fraps didnt work. however, when i tell it to record the .lmp, it starts up the game and before i can even move my character the game closes and says the .lmp has been recorded. bullshit. it recorded nothing. why is this. can i get a moderator here?

Doom95? That's the buggiest Doom version ever to be released IMO. There's loads of other source ports (of which PrBoom simulates the original Doom the best, it's for Windows too).
And uhm... you want a moderator? ¿Que

Either stick to vanilla or PRBoom (Eternity is good in nearly all cases too, I've heard) for maximum compatibility.
If you go for the vanilla exe remember to set the -maxdemo [max size in kb] parameter. Not setting the max demo size may have been your problem in Doom95 too.
