I want to do one thing

There was the projects for DDay The Underworld
It was, because project is stopped and all what is left from it is 10 levels & demo level number 11
I want to merge tis level in one wad because they works only separatelly each other

I tried to extract wads and put all files in one wad - but how I understand there must be some list of files integrated in WAD

Can somebody tell me what I must do to make it real?

And second
Which tools modellers using to make models for DDay?
I wanna make some models for Aliens TC

1. XWE

2. Blood, sweat and tears *grin*

But seriously, if you can get to grips with q2mdl, its as good a modeling program as any. For static objects, its all you need - you wont be able to to any serious animation though unless you get something like milkshape.

I tried to make some complex model

But I don't know how to add skins to model & etc.

Milkshape is good tool but its some different from Q2ModelEditor & not works with Mesa3D DLLs under WinXP like XWE(XWE not properly works)

Ok quick explanation...

In Q2mdl:

1. open view ->skins

2. resize the two windows so that you can see both well at the same time

3. load a skin file in the skin window - due to a bug, you must do this or you wont be able to see what you are doing. if you have quake 2, use one of the player model skins, because that has a pallete compatible with q2mdl

4. select some polygons in the main q2mdl window.

5. in the skins window, go to edit->get position from model. choose which side the polygons youve selected are facing and then ok. the polies you selected in the 3d window will now appear on the skin - keep repeating until you have every polygon mapped onto the skin, arranging them as you go.

6. hope it doesnt crash :P

Thanks for explanations
But one thing last
Polygons not secliting!

I remember that in someway earlier I able to select polys in my model
But now when I created some simple ...

Can you tell me something about merging Wads?

I have no idea why your polies arent selecting - perhaps you werent in face select mode - look at the bottom left of your screenshot.

About XWE's saving - it doesnt actually have a save command, when you make a change to a wad with it, it is automatically saved and a backup copy is written.

There In the left bottom corner button face mode - Right?
But all my polys becomes selected & when I'm trying to apply skin in skin select window my polygon is displaying over texture but in perspextive view window polys without texture

Not sure then - I do notice you are using the older version of q2mdl. Try again with the newer one (its on Chebs list of tools that I linked to above)

I like have understood with selection
With modes of display(verts, face)
But I'm still can't apply skin to polygon
For experiment I'm using Golem_death skin
Skin loads, I can chang polyon position on skin, but skin is not displayed on poly
Q2mdl is 0,90-0,91
3D View - flat shaded
texture must be in editor directory? I've loaded it from different path
