Heh. I just took an IQ test a little bit ago, and I was pleased with the results. 153 -- which is on genius level, if you didn't know. The test was on the internet (IQTest.com (http://www.iqtest.com/)), so I wouldn't believe my IQ is exactly what it says, but I'm pretty sure it's not too far off.

So, how about you guys? Do you know your IQ?

I had my IQ test(s) done by the public school system about ten years ago and the results were 147.

This was after a yon of testing they did on me.

Anyone else with ADHD?

The last time I had it officially tested, it was ~160 or so, with the standard margin for error.

I've never actually taken one, but I don't believe in them since I've known some extremely stupid people (by my definition of course) who have scored very highly on them. I think intelligence is too much a multifaceted matter to be quantifiable with tests, and also a personal notion since there is many different attitudes towards intelligence that one can subscribe to.

I agree with you, Toxic. There are several different kinds of "smarts", if you will, such as someone having poor language skills but superb math skills, and so on. IQ tests are suppossed to represent the mean, but I don't feel they are to be taken too seriously.

I got 143 which is quite surprising as I have had far lower as low as 87 which made me feel really thick when I know I'm not stupid. Some would call it an excuse and certainly I've had strangers insult me for my difficult with maths (Yeah so where was their degree in maths?) but I've always had great difficulty with maths. I don't hate it I have a real problem with maths and it did confound my maths teacher at high school who knew I did very well at all my other subjects but maths. I don't know but I get the feeling that it might be something like dyslexia but with numbers and not so severe. There are different kinds of intelligence I know so it's a bit annoying when they weigh it so heavily on maths or even english.

Doing one IQ test won't tell you anything. You have to do several tests, and then take the average of the results. That still doesn't give you your IQ IMO, but at least it's a bit more accurate than just taking one test.

Remember i am only a 14 year old DUTCH boy and since this test was in english i'd say that's quite remarkable

169 last time I checked. When I was 10 I had the IQ of a thirty-two year old.
I know I am smart enough not to purchase that damn certificate just to find out the IQ I have.

Age has little to do with IQ. Intelligence, yes, but IQ, no. Your IQ stays pretty much the same your whole life (in some cirmstances, like brain trauma, it can decrease quite a bit, but I don't know about increasing much).

Yeah, but IQ is an abbreviation of Intelligence Quotient, so isn't that in fact the same? ;)

Yup, and the IQ tests your perception, and problem solving skills. That does change as you get older. My IQ came through as 162 on this site.

I've taken a pile of IQ tests in the past and my scores have ranged from 118-175. I know people who took some of the same ones and had scores as low as 63 (that guy was damn smart too).

As a result I don't feel like taking this one.

IQ tests mean nothing in my opinon. Because some people are smarter in certain subjects than other people. IQ tests are just a bunch of math equations, and wierd philosphy things. In which many are "Use" based questions. If you asked me a complicated question about computers I would be more apt to get the correct answer because computers are things I use everyday of my life. I don't use all those psyco math equations and perceptiveness thingies. Also my IQ was 143.
