for outline and "wireframe" problems.

Also will you be improving the top of the torches? Very pixelatted up close but they do look good from afar.

yea....i know this problem....beceause i'm not a good skiner :\

- for the first ( the tree ) its an pb with the alpha chanel...

- and for the torche, this bp is not an pb is just the skin....sorry...

i mean that some models (with the flame effects) are oscillating / moving / misshaping, although she should be standing still

i like to show you, but i dont know to record it....

you have to stand very near to this objects to see it...

Excellent models. They make HeXen looks loads better. My only nitpick would be that the Chandelier model looks alittle small.

J'aime les arbres, j'ai été joyeux étonné par les belles feuilles de l'automne, et mon dieu ! J'ai soudainement un serpent de chaos ? Puisque ce n'est pas un ?decoration ?, peut-être j'ai acquis ce modèle Ã* un temps plus tôt et ne l'ai pas noté ? La gargouille avec la décoration de crâne est très élégante, mais n'apparaît pas dans tous les endroits. Beaucoup de fois il y a un sprite dans un endroit où je préférerais voir votre modèle de ceci. J'apprécie vraiment ces décorations. Bon travail ! J'utilise le traducteur de « Babel Fish », quoiqu'il ne soit pas vraiment nécessaire.

I love the trees, I was joyfully surprised by the beautiful leaves of autumn, and my god! I suddenly have a Chaos Serpent?
Because this is not a “decoration”, perhaps I have acquired this model at an earlier time and did not notice?
The gargoyle with skull decoration is very elegant, but does not appear in all places. Many times there is a sprite in a place where I would prefer to see your model of this. I am really enjoying these decorations. Good work!
I am using the Babel Fish Translator, even though it is not really necessary.

Allright, I obviously acquired the Chaos Serpent from JXrp, which I had not sufficient time to explore thouroughly. (I am an imbecile! :-)) Life has been rough. Anyway, great work Cain, and I look forward to the crossbow for Heretic.

( just a council, often looks at the chart and uses markings with M keys in the map mode )

- yes i'm making and i'm work on all Hud for Hexen, but at the moment is not my priority ( i need to total finish the decoration pack and items ).....

i just have one thing to ask...why does the tree move after it is broken. the pieces lay there about half a second then move. good job on the pack its very good for beta:)

The models don't look bad, but they need to be re-oriented on the map somehow. Half of the statues are facing into a corner.

- arf.. is not possible to re-oriented they model...
because when the Raven team are making Hexen is do not thing about good orientation... ( is do not have the utility with sprites... )

- For a good orentation, you need to remake all map in hexen ... *book*

Yes I have the same problem with the jDRP models. Maybe we should ask skyjake if there is a way for Doomsday to rotate any not interactive THINGs away from the nearest wall?

Trying to find a way for doomsday to do it is certainly a better idea than editing all the maps. Even if someone did edit the maps and re-orient all the statues, we couldn't legally distribute it anyway.

Won't there be some sort of legal implications for redistributing the wads? Even if they are edited, it's essentially the whole game.

I've just realised I've not given you any feedback yet *guilty*

Very good work. I like the direction your taking with this. It's got a look that suits hexen very well.

The trees and stumps are very well modeled.

Unfortunetly since I only have the 4 level demo I can't see half of the work you've done - in game.

Keep up the excellent work Cain, I look forward to your item pack. *thumbs*

Yes it is the predator head, I stole it from the jDTP, but I modified it to more closely match the original sprite.
I thought that the eyes could be red gemstones (rubies) that glow from the torchlight when lit. On the unlit torch they are dark. Just a little artistic interpretation.

I did a little artistic interpretation, but I didn't want to veer too far from the Hexen theme. That's why I included a reference shot of the sprite along with the in-game view of the torch on my website. From very far away the new torch does look a lot like the sprite. I just figured that if the Raven artists had more pixels to work with they might have done something like this.

I had also considered searching the web for pics of stone gargoyles to see if I could find one that is suitable. But the predator head from the jDTP worked so well that I went ahead and used it.

Cain, I wanted the pots so much I tried to add them myself. I reskinned the urn model with a pot skin just to have something. Check it out for a laugh.:)

I can tailor 3 different skins for your pot models as soon as I have the models. A model texture unwrap outline would help.

Very Nice, they look just like the sprite.

Though they look a little at odds with everything around them. Prehaps if the skin colour were closer to HeXen's texture/flat ice colour?

They look great Cain, very much like the sprite.

I think it would look even better if you made them transparent using the skin's alpha channel (you'll still need to use model alpha though otherwise you might get clipping problems). So that they become more opaque closer to the base (as in real life).

Also the hanging corpse looks excellent. I suggest you use the alpha channel on the hair as it'll help remove the straight edge. Hueteotl, I remember that model. I think the author hangs around at Polycount (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~polycount/ubb/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true) but I can't remember his name or nick though.

I'd say it needs to be just a little lighter so as to match the colour of HeXen's ice flat/textures more. But it's only my opinion, feel free to discard it.

OK, I can open these. MOYPOTX and SMALPOTX are OK, but I can't make sense of BIGPOTX.

I can make 3 different rectangular skins that will wrap around the pots OK, and then you can put them where they need to be. I can also make an endcap skin for the 8-sided top and bottom.

If you want a hand with alpha channel send it my way Cain.

A submodel would help indeed. A simple square at the base would allow you to make a smooth transition from ceiling to stalagtite.

Not only that, but my buddy Shadowdragon (aka my modeling lackey) is always up to do jobs for me, such as...like...remodeling the Heretic gargoyle!

I'll try to get him to do that tomorrow, he said it should be easy, though for me i'd have to uvw and animate it, as well as skin. ;)

Oh and it'd also try to be the most representative, as this time it will have more of a head like the statusbar (I think that's the heretic gargoyle's head on the sbar at the right), as well as have curled horns, a nd a human-like form (rather than a 4 legged crawl form). It'll also have a thinner tail this time too and i'll try to animate using milkshape's skeletal system for aid. :D

And because of the skeletal system, I could just twist his horns, and voila! AN AFRIT MODEL FOR HEXEN! XD

I'll make a thread about it when i'm ready.

P.S. Notice that the gargoyle's right facing pain sprite, he's crying. Aww isn't that sweet how he's innocent looking like that? :P

OoooOK....

I have updated the Decorations pack :

- All pots model ( but not when is explode, it is nessessary..? )

- All ices stalactites and ices stalagmites ( some new idea are coming to henhance ..)

- the update of the impaled corps ( using Huteole model, but need new skin to looking more close of the sprite...)

- adding 2 corps models; one when is sitting and one when is
to attach with chains on the ceiling...( idems for the impaled corps.. need better skin... ).

- Adding some David_Osu textures fix ( tree, torche... )
-I'm sorry David_Osu but I preferred to withdraw the eyes red, I find that very good, but that true that made strange in hexen...I don't want to offence you.. tel me if you have an problem with it....:)

Are there any models for the centaurs?- they stand out as the most unfinished when playing hexen.

I just had another look at it, and I'm pretty unhappy with it. The upper torso is pretty rigid and doesnt really look much like the sprite anyway. And the front legs are really dodgy, I dont even think they have the right number of joints....

I should have just learned how to draw, like everyone else does *bug*

skinning can make or break a model just look t the war3 models how good they look but they are low polys

Hi..

Sorry for that long time...

-I get my new computer.. installing in progress...

i'm not finish...but i have little problem to
merge the Jxrp with my decoration pack.. ( ded conflict )

- and i start 2 other project ( not doom thing...)
but my priority is finalize All sprites in 3d for Hexen
( decoration, items, hud, monsters...)

Well cain A great pack I can give you that, but I think that the torch with the predator head needs some tuning, I dont know if this is a problem only with mz computer, but where the horns are connected to the face a clearly visible line appears between the textures. And i think that the original chandelier (the one by default in the jhexen 3d models pack) looked much better the new one. I must say that you really nailed it with the fire on the torches, it looks much better than the 3d version (perhaps it would be possible to replace the 3d flame with the 2d one.

Another thing is that the gargoyle statue skull texture and the texture of the gargoyle dont fit very well together.

Dont get me wrong i have only written the problems I see, or think I see :) , the fact is that this pack is INSANE, great job! Now the ettins stand out as poor models against the new ones.

And, by the way the David_OSU's predator-like skin rocks!

That´s bad lot of models in same room slows game down. You can look at ground , and you will get same fps.This is problems in jDoom optimalization.
Will be nice if Skyjake insert support for things like HW TnL or vertex shaders..
