Doom lights works with Hi Res Textures (http://forums.newdoom.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11681) Ben2K9 made a great light Ded package for Doom. I hope thats what you needed.

I personally like gamedude's. They're not overly bright. Bright lights, especially in combination with the jDEP, can cause framerate slowdowns on my Athlon XP 2500+ (overclocked @3200+) with GeForce4 ti4600.
It's not perfect though. I ran into one problem with them that you may or may not encounter. On my system, they only seem to work 100% if you're not missing certain high resolution textures. It works perfectly with the Doom II Retexturing Project texture pack but not perfectly with the jDTP - The jDoom Texture Pack. The D2RP is more complete than the jDTP.
That's just my experience and opinion. It's easy to try both and compare.

I beleive the jDRP was ment to be installed over the DRP, and if you find the lights too big/bright, turn down the radius factor in the control panel. And dont feel bad, I've had performace problems with a 9800 SE, (bout the same as a 9500, ive been told.) so its not you, Doomsday just has bad performance. For some reason, Jaako wants to do EVERYTHING in real time. odd.

hey sin4u, I have a solution. download the DNA drivers (2.0.4.1 ) at www.guru3d.com and use the 9800se to 9800 pro hack which softmods it to a 9800 pro using the drivers, if you want your old performance back, just uninstall them and install the old drivers. It works.

It works if you're lucky.
