Word of Advice: Don't buy it. It's a piece of shit. Trust me. I bought it a few hours ago. When I head to the movie later tonight I'm going to copy it and trade it in for something worth buying. The graphics look about 2 years old and yet they chug on my 2.4ghz ti4600 system. The animations, terrible. The environmetns, linear and ugly. The textures? Pathetic, one of them I saw looked like it could have been in quake 1. The driving parts where you're the passenger are terrible. The AI can't drive and the mouse sensitivity changes in the car and you can't aim worth shit. Blah. Anyway I gotta go copy it so that I can return it before I need to be at the theatre http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif.

If they're playing it on Xbox I could believe it. That looks nice. If they're playing it on PC then everyone you know is retarded. The sniping part in the control tower, it's retarded it took a couple of minutes to even be able to SEE who the fuck I was supposed to be shooting at because the graphics fade into mush at that distance. I have to hit the reload button 3 or 4 times before the game actually fucking reloads, when I'm using focus and I try to punch someone he just stands there and then jerks around alittle before finally punching (after the target has moved out of the way). The driving sequence is a joke, the controls are terrible the physics just as bad. You can only jump like 6 inches straight up, even when focused. The bit where you have to jump to a ladder from on top of the piano? It took me about an hour to figure that out because, despite the fact that the game tells you to wait on the piano and jump to the ladder, you can't make it. you have to run at the piano and press jump and you're magically transported to the ladder. The shadows in the game flicker and dissolve constantly, the textures on the police truck during the first driving seen flicker all over the place. The collision detection for bullets is crap as well. A bullet flew by about 5 feet away from me and the game registered a hit. AARRRRGH. And when I went to return it it turns out that EB has changed their return policy and I'd only get $11 for it! So I kept the fucking piece of trash and I'm trying to sell it. Jesus. I can't believe they so thoroughly ruined what could have been a great game. A bunch of monkeys banging their fucking cocks on keyboards could write a better fucking game. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm23.gif

Hmm. This is a bit of a turnaround. I had a thought that maybe since the system requirements were so low that they were still using pretty much the same game loop that they were using on the consoles, which are all the same and maybe since my computer is like 4x the sys requirements it might be causing wierdness in the game. Dumb idea, I know. So I cranked everything way up. 1600x1200 3x anisotropic filtering (the options menu keeps deslecting 4x, I don't know why) 5x antialiasing. Wow. It really helped. Once you've cranked it it's actually quite a nice looking game. THe environments are still console-like and pretty bad and the shadows are still fucked up but almost all of the other problems have dissapeared. With that out of the way I can actually enjoy the martial arts (which kick ass) and the sound (which also kicks ass). Maybe there's hope for the game after all.

That game is kickass. I love all the different combos. I beat the game with Ghost and it was cool. The hacking menu is cool too. It's like a computer sim. Try getting the sword program. It's pretty cool how far you have to go in order to get it. And Niobe isn't that bad of a driver. Well at least not when I played it. There's like 3 different driving and shooting missions and the best one is when you're on the highway being chased by a couple of agents.

Hmm, I can't figure out how to get very far in the hacking thing. I haven't really tried that hard though. Oh well. I get some weird graphics artifacts in the game. Parts of Niobi's coat flicker and I have yet to see the shadows work right. I think I might only have the alpha of directx 9 so that my have something to do with it, but I really don't care enough to find out. I didn't get very far into the game before I stopped playing it for something like two weeks now, damn you Morrowind! You eat up my day like a fat kid in a donut shop!

I just got the XBOX version and so far it does not seem like anything original, though I am enjoying the game play, and the movies rock, but ya I have to say the GFX could be better.
Of course I am only at the beginning of the game so I can't rip on it yet... http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

I finished the hacking bit, it ws fun but way to short. I don't think it was worth my time because I doubt it unlocks multiplayer mode on the PC http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm25.gif . I wish they had actually developed the game for PC rather than doing a crappy port. Sheesh.
