I just bought that game adn completed it in 3 days. Despite being short it's good if you try to sneak around a lot more than I did. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif You get a load of cool ways to knock out or kill folk. You get little electric things which look funny when you shoot someone with them. They scream like mad then go out. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif You get to zip-line, climb hand over hand on pipes and rappel too. I think it's pretty sweet overall. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm4.gif

What with all these high priced short games these days? http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm1.gif

Is Splinter a squad based game like Rainbow Six or do you go it alone? Does it have skill levels?

You go solo in this game.

It is a Rainbow Six game dummy! Except, like Undertaker said, you go solo.

And the lighting looks weirdo cause they used all dynamic lights so you can shoot them out.

However, this is not the case with TED's fill routine. This slow, stupid algorithm will casually fill one plane of data in a painfully creeping manner. Press ESC when it gets confused." - John Romero on TED (Tile EDitor)

Goddamnit. Not another short game.

I liked the demo, but there is no way I'm gonna get the full game until it's out on budget if it's a shorty.

The graphics weren't too impressive.... the Unreal engine always looks washed out to me - it doesn't seem to have as large a brightness range as Q3 or Doom3. Although those hanging material sheets were a really nice effect.

Deus Ex is still my stealth game of choice though - and it's unbelievably long.

Oh yeah Deus Ex is quite long. I didn't even finish the game!

BTW, are you gonna get Deus Ex 2 Toxicfluff?

I didn't finish Deus Ex either and I got as far as that Container ship where you blow up the seals. Made it to the room with the mechanical spiders, got killed by some electrical stuff, installed new vid card, game didn't like that and looked like it defaulted to software mode, me got peeved, uninstalled Deus Ex, forgot to save my saved games and I don't want to replay all that again anytime soon. It's a cool assed game but I don't know if I want to go through all that again. Heh. Those MIB dudes in the labs were damned hard I know. hehe they don't like those darts though when you snipe em in the legs from inside the airducts near the floor. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/wink.gif

I didn't realise Splinter was a Rainbow Six sequel / whatever. If it's short I won't be paying no 69.99 for it not including the 15% sales tax we have here.

I only got up to the second part (Hell's Kitchen) of the second level (Battery Park). Seriously, that's how far I got since I was to afraid of going through the kiosk. I was afriad I was gonna die because there were camera's and turrets at some entrances.

Hehe theres a lot more to it after Hell's Kitchen. You should play more of it soon Amazon cause it is a good game.

Damn I should reinstall Deus Ex to see if I can get back into it. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Such a shame DD, you were close to the end. All you had to do was a quick level after that and you would have made it to Area51. Then you would have to choose between taking it over and ruling the world with a silent hand or blowing it up and sending the world into a dark age. Either way there's no super giant end boss.

Doom_Dude

That's a drag Amazon. Maybe you should try cleaning the CD.

Damn Undertaker that kinda sucks. Oh well, maybe I can cheat to that part just to see how it ends. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/wink.gif

Damn right I am http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif DX2, (hopefully)DukeF. and Doom3 are my eager buys this year.

DD: Deus Ex rules.

I love the way things vary - I've played the game through 3 times now, and ended up with different events each time. E.g. the first time I played, my pilot got assasinated and I was real pissed off, but the second time, I managed to prevent it.

There are other plot forks, but I don't wanna ruin them in case you play it again. Suffice to say that the plot gets bigger and bigger, and ends up like an extra-long X-Files episode.

The cd is clean. The reason why it doesn't work anymore because the game froze and I pressed conttrol+alt+delete. When I tried to play it again that's when that notice came and said that the cd is not in the cd-rom. So do I uninstall and reinstall the game?

Deus Ex 2 (http://www.deusex2.com) http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif The site says that the game takes 20 years after the first DX. But Planet Deus Ex (http://www.planetdeusex.com) says that it takes 15 years after the first DX. Pretty odd though. Check them out...I want to know which one's more accurate.

I heard somewhere that this Chistmas they're gonna release a Christmas surprise for Splinter Cell on Xbox Live. They also said that they'll release a deathmatch type mode. That would be kinda gay though.

The only relation Splinter Cell has to Rainbow Six is that they both take place in the world of Tom Clancy's books. You really can't tell in Splinter Cell though. It bugged me that they changed the names of the guns. The sc pistol is an FN AP Army or an FN FiveSeven, though those might be the same gun, not sure. The Sc-20k is the FN 2000, its really new and saw its first combat testing in Afghanistan. I read a hands-on with the gun in Soldier of Fortune, it looks like a hell of a gun http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif. The thing is though, splinter cell isn't as realistic as the Rainbow Six games because the sc 20k is chambered in 5.56 which is a bitch to silence without using sub sonic ammo, and sub sonic 5.56 is probably be pretty weak because it would basically just be a .22. Not like that fact lessened my enjoyment of the game http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif. I like the part in the Foreign Ministery where you rapel down the window and cap the guard through the glass http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif.

I like Hitman games more. Much more. And Chaos Theory has starforce protection, which immediatly makes me hate the producer and not buy (or download for that matter) the game.

Is getting in the way (http://gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?section_name=dev&aid=2316). But I'm sure they'll be back after getting worked to death by EA.

I fucking hate EA. EA also is a sign for me not to buy the game. Downloading it is a different matter though.

"For its part, EA - a company which, all other considerations aside, is noted for generally treating its employees very well"

Haha, except that they don't pay their employees wages properly and require them to work horrible amounts of overtime. Way to go EA!
