Heavy Gear 2

I found this game in my collection recently & I think it's pretty good.

Has anyone here tried this game?

I didn't buy Heavy Gear II because of Heavy Gear. Is 2 better than the first one?

I think it is, where Heavy gear was essentially just mech fighting on a smaller scale, HG2 has more of a FPS feel to it, for example when you modify your gear you don't really need to worry about weight (you can easily have rediculously large weapons on the the smallest gears).

Worth noting: the "campaign" is basically Gear black-ops, stealth plays a big part.

I was dissapointed with the first one cause all the missions seemed so damned repetitive after awhile and everything looked the same. You also couldn't go into any buildings or anything like that.

I'll buy Heavy II if I ever see it on the shelf again.

Some you can, but they aren't that big.

I see. I guess being in a huge suit doesn't help gettin in and out of complexes but you should be able to go into enemy hangers and such.

Yeah, I love that game. Haven't played it in a long time though. You aren't limited by weight but by threat value, so early on you can't take the really huge guns. The zero-g missions are fun http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

I like the Heavier Gears Personally, Kodiak for example & beef up the stealth then have some laser weapons with me.
