As the subject says: How bright/dark you play games?
I like to play games dark. It gives a much interesting and scarier athmosphere. And the games usually look better too.
Have you ever seen someone playing quake with full brightness? That looks really crap! Lowering the brightness, Whoa! Very good game!

Actually Quake's okay. Play RTCW on the dark misiion with the sun shining through the window behind you and you'll see what it was like for me. I just play games on default settings for brightness. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

Same here. But I do love playing games at night.

Dark I suppose but not too dark that I can't see the architecture.

For me it really depends on the game.
If I play a game that's taking place in the day outside dark doesn't look that good.

i usually turn my brightness up one or two notches on my monitor at all times, i can't stand some maps people make, some user created maps for newer games are done shitty and so they are too dark in nature, so you have to compensate, i like to keep brightness settings to a minimum though...if a map looks decent on normal i'll leave it alone...

I like my games as dark as I can see them decently. In games like DooM it's scarier and in all games the colours are richer.

Some games thankfully have a gamma control setting in options. I hate it when you have to adjust your monitor settings for a game that's too dark...... then your blinded by your monitor when you quit.

I love to play... Dark enough to create atmosphere but enough to just see my surroundings.
I dont like upping the brightness and stuff too much...which turns blacks to washed-out greys, ugly

Yah thats how i play my games too. I turn off all the lights so there's no glare and it DOES make all the colours richer. When i make maps i base the brightness of it on how good it looks in the dark. If you ever play any of my maps and its too dark then turn off the lights! http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm30.gif
