Does anyone remember ROTT? I loved it and think it deserves more of a community. I always wanted to play it online.

I didn't play it till about a year ago and got bored quickly....... mainly because I hate stuff in software mode.
Wasn't the source code released? Maybe we'll see a cool port for it sometime soon. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Yeah, I loved those crazy rocket launchers!
Under-appreciated, ground-breaking game for its time, in many ways.
Check out this awesome article (http://www.classicgaming.com/rott/hell/).

There are some guys doing a GL port even though the code was never released. They're rebuilding the whole game from scratch and they're looking for texture artists, mappers, modellers, etc. They seem to be doing it like FreeDoom and making all the resources too, even though they're copying everything exactly. Their engine isn't done yet though so they don't have much to show except some pretty MD3 models.

ROTT's source code (http://www.3drealms.com/index.shtml#rottsource) was indeed released.
You may be thinking about a GlDuke project (http://sourceforge.net/projects/glduke3d/). The original source for Duke 3D was never released, and probably never will be.

No the Duke source wasn't but the BUILD engine code is released on Ken Silverman's site.
No, I was thinking of a ROTT project. They literally do seem to be working from scratch on it. I saw it just the other day.

I keep all the ROTT music on hand. You should try it with that XG synth I gave you Pickle.
I can't install ROTT on windows XP, 2000, or ME. The damn installer crashes. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/frown.gif
