FPS games are mostly good but I prefer a good driving game or games like the ones Big Al mentioned earlier in this thread, Acid Tetris and Spheres of Chaos, I would add DX-Ball and Rocks and Diamonds, a brilliant free download with excellent new versions of SOKOBAN, Diamond Mines, Boulderdash and Supaplex included in it as well as a level editor.

FPS games that have a fairly permanent place on my hard drive (apart from the DooMs) are..

Duke Nukem 3D (Atomic edition)
Shadow Warrior
Redneck Rampage (effing brilliant)
Blood (shareware, shops dont seem to have it)

They pale into insignificance compared to Dethkarz, Driver, Screamer Rally, Need for Speed (any version) Breakneck, Moto Racer (1 and 2)GTA (all versions) Ignition and the original Screamer.

I also love a good soccer game, my favourites are Sensi, Total Soccer 2000 and Euro96.

My favourite game of all time is Elite but the games industry seems incapable of making a new version of it and the old scabby graphics version runs too fast even on my shitty hardware.

LithTech is alright. It would be cool to see of the LithTech games on the Q3 engine. Especially Shogo, the only game in its class I've played so far.

I also loved Half-Life and Half-Life Blue Shift (not long enough really) not tried Opposing Forces or Gunman Chronicles yet.
Star Trek Elite Forced was good but I would say that being a Trekie, Q3A engine and Star Trek winning combination.
Also like emulators for old computers and arcade games, Mame, NeoRage, Raine, Sega, Nes, SNes, Atari, Amiga, Specturm, BBC, Archimedes.
Anyone one remember 8bit platform game called Chuckie Egg? I loved that game, got a great Windows convertion to play now.

Opposing Force is well worth checking out if you liked the short Blue Shift jobby.

Pain is I've only seen it recently in the combo pack with original Half Life,etc . Not paying extra for a game I have already got.
