I've been messing around with Deepsea to suit the best colors for the editor.

I am using a new palette in which index 4 map 4 of the palette is r37 b37 g37, which is almost black.

this happens to make the number beside the mouse cursor when drawing a new line hard to see.

I try to find a way to fix this in the options menu, but found nothing to change it.

I could swap index 4 map 4 with another brighter color but leaves the existing gfx somewhat messed up.

so, is there a better way to change this without causing a big mess?

Change the Index, then change it back when ur done? You could also try loading a Pwad with only a playpal lump so that that pallett overrides the one in ur current wad..

Don't try to play doom. Instead, only try to realize that there is no doom, and it's you that is Played

See answer in DoomWorld forum. But I just realized you really can't change 4 without affecting DOOM graphics - so it's better to use the F5/Color method to customize WHITE vs changing the actual palette if all you are looking for is editor customization.

I am changing all the text to pure black and white though - which means you can't change them via F5/Colors any longer, but don't think that matters. Will probably add an option to change Black and White separately.
