View Full Version : Weird map problem

I have made a quite large map for Doomsday Engine. It doesn't have any errors, expect that it is using a lot of new line types that doesn't exist in doom normally.

Here's the description of the error: When I run the map, it just gives me an error that doomsday.exe has encountered a problem when the precaching is done and the level should start.

There are 2 areas; the large area(upside) and smaller area(downside). I can run both areas without other area just fine. When both areas are in the map, it just crashes.
I've seen much more detailed maps that work good.

Is there a limit to the # of linetypes you can use in a JDooM map? From looking at the map specs, the map should run no problem.

Maybe, It started on Legacy just fine, expect that the map wasn't designed for Legacy and the xg sectors were something else.

Maybe you stumbled upon a rendering bug in Doomsday, or there is some lump that's missing so Doomsday can't cache it.

It runs in Boomsday too, but with similar results as Legacy.

And there shouldn't be any missing textures or such things.

I figured out what caused the crash of the doomsday.exe: Too much linetype 48(scrolling walls).

I had about 130 linetype 48.
