The E1M6 and E1M7 are very good doom maps. The second episode maps are the 2 first ones. Pandemonium is a good map too.
From Doom II I like the refueling base very much. And the underhalls is fun too.
TNT: The first map.
Plutonia: The well of souls is good.

Does nobody else think that E3M5 (Unholy Cathedral) is an excellent map? Yes it's large and confusing, but it's so non-linear and creepy, with cool fight situations.
In DooM2 I like Map18 (The Courtyard) and Map19 (The Citadel) with their open, arena-like fighting areas and masses of enemies.

I really like all of episode 1 of DooM. Also like E4M7, and most of episode 2 (but not the crap secret level). I like E3M6 a lot and I like E4M7 as well.
In DooM II I liked map23, map08, map15 and map09 the most.

"Once in a while a programmer really writes something he's proud of, a slick, elegant, blazingly fast routine that stands as a benchmark against which other code will be judged by. However, this is not the case with TED's fill routine. This slow, stupid algorithm will casually fill one plane of data in a painfully creeping manner. Press ESC when it gets confused." - John Romero on TED (Tile EDitor)

I remebered one map from doomII that was cool: Map24: The Chasm.
There were these narrow bridges and very long fall to slime. I wonder what would have happend if a cyberdemon had appeared there shooting rockets?

It's definitely my favourite. I also liked the first part of MAP28 but it was too ugly in the arachnotron bit with all that bright red and yellow rock.
