I prefer WadED, but since Doom_Dude made thos ini files that allow doomcad to make 3d floors, I have been toying around with that.

WadAuthor (the first i used), fine, simple, do what i want in 1 mili-seconde (not as deepsea that have so many window popup... do to 1 thing...)
and Wintex to added, deleted and modified files.
When is the new release of WadAuthor ???

I use WADED mainly, then other editors to patch stuff together. I'm hoping WHY will get a copy / paste feature soon. WadAuthor screws up the tags when you copy / paste. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/frown.gif

I've used DoomCad 5.1 to copy / paste (using template mode) entire levels into a new wad. It takes a few tries to get it on the grid though. I did this recently and it remembers everything in the wad. I don't recommend it because it's hard to get it to paste on the grid nicely. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/wink.gif

I use windeu for maps.
Wintex and XWE for graphics and sounds.
Textpad for editing jdoom's deds.
I might use Why when it shows the textures in walls and flats.

The current (not released) version of Why does show flat graphics. I might add texture graphics too, if I get around to it.
The graphics themselves are easy to show, in fact one earlier version already showed some of them. It's just that adding all the views is a bit of a layout problem.

BTW. Does it support custom flats? Some editors doesn't do that. And custom line/sector/thing types would be great too.

Custom flats and graphics are supported. As is adding new item types.
