Does anyone know how to set the walls to come down after the last Baron is killed in E1M8? Kaiser, you might know the answer to this one.

well you first have to have barons of hell in the level, then you have to set the 666-tag onto the sectors

or in other words, give the sectors the 666 atribute

as for how you do that part of it i am not sure

You could open up E1M8 in your editor and see if the walls are tagged or have special attributes or anything.

The sector that's supposed to lower has a sector tag of 666. I've looked at that in the editor before. There are no linedef tags required for that one.

Sorry to confuse things, but in my editor the linedef tag is the number applied to the sector to link to a line def, and the sector tag is the number applied to the linedef to link to a sector. They're both the same thing.

I guess it's the linedef tag that needs to be 666 then. That's kind of confusing. There are no extra lines with tags on them though, just the sector(s) that go down.

actually, this is a exe-embedded function.

it only works on E1m8, and any sector tagged 666 will LowerToLowest.

What editor are you using? The ability to give a "linedef-tag" to a sector is important to map editing. You can't make much without it. If you're using Wintex like all your other posts suggest, then that doesn't count. It's not a map editor. They're not hard to find. It's not a linedef number though it's just a tag you put on the desired sector.

Probably the same number. Id has a fixation on that. They should have used a more general approach for these things so we could apply them anywhere. Sprite tags like BUILD would be nice.

For the mancubi, it's a number around 666 I think. There are two tags on that level, one for the doors to open and the other for the sector to rise so you can reach the switch.

in e1e8 you have tag 666 for all barrons dead
in e2e8 you have level end when cyberdemon is dead

in map 07 have tag 666 and floor will lower when all Mancubi are dead, and have a sector tagged 667 when all arachnotron are dead. and that will cause the floor to rise.

and last you got the keen, sector tagged 666 when all keen dies will open the door. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif
