Would I be allowed to borrow/steal/use/etc the sky image behind the NewDoom Logo.
I think it would make a great sky texture in one of my wads. PWEEEEEEEAS!

I want it too. I was planning to use it anyway but it would be nice to have permission. Who made it anyway?

Has it been a few moments yet?
At the bottom of the page it says copyright by Mindless Games & Entertainment, so that might include the sky image. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/frown.gif

Wmull is going to MetAlicA your ass mystic. Well, anyway, is there a bigger version anywhere. I set it as a desktop wallpaper but its a little bit over streched. Well, it put in a wad and a few problems came up. Its a 16 bit pic, so theres a small loss of visual quality when changing to 8 bit. The ends do not match so it has an incomplete mountain on the side. And it is not a proper size, so you get some garbage at the bottom of it.

Hi guys,
I'm in Los Angeles, job and apartment hunting, which is why I couldn't get right to your posts......
Although it's okay with me, as long as credit is given to NewDoom.com, I would appreciate if you sent an email to DraX who created the texture, at mailto:drax@mindlessgames.comdrax@mindlessgames.co m</A> and let him know you would like to use the texture, and ask him if it's okay. I'm sure that it is, but that's the right thing to do, and you might even get a better version of it for in-game use out of him.......

Best,
William

Yeah, it'd be nice if you guys asked... let me know the specs on what you need in order to get it into a WAD, and I'll see if I might be able to render up something really quick for you.

DraX

P.S. The copyright is held by Mindless Games & Entertainment. And, myself being the author of said image, and the head graphics guy for MGE (Yeah, I'm the Design Guy who was responsible for the pathetic excuse for a website http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm1.gif ), my permission is required, as well as William Mull/Phoebus' authorization. Of, course, that's trivial since I already said it was cool http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

I was only joking about stealing it, I checked it for doominess the first time I saw it.
That is a really nice skyline but like The Undertaker said its no good for a doom wad. It loses too much when you re-size it and inflict the doom palette. You then have to do a lot of image editing to make it tile properly. The amount of work needed to make a good doom sky you would be as well making one from scratch like I do.
