After reading this (http://www.doomworld.com/news/followupgen.php3?news_id=776) LONG flamewar against the DeePteam at Doomworld, its seems we care less for it. All we did was post some news about. Well, if you got the time go and read it, it can be rather entertaining.

The only big thing I like about DeePsea is that it can edit other ports easily. Maybe someone would make configuration files for WadAuthor for other ports then DeeP wouldn't be so big.

I tried it (Deepsea) and didn't like it. I use DoomCad 5.1 and that's what I'll stick with for editing DooM II from now on.

My favorite editor was DEU and now ZETH, but for importing large graphic and combining textures, I use DeepSea and I thing that it is a very powerful program the way I use it.

DeePsea looks really cool, but it still has usability issues. I don't really do any mapping anymore anyway. I used to use DEU.

I use Deepsea.

If Deth had most of Deepsea's features (clone sector, LineDrawing, 3d preview) then that editor would be flawless.

Aliotroph?, if you used DEU you will like DETH, its basically a newer version of DEU without the memory problems and with a couple of different commands/keys and the new version works fine in both dos and win98.

You will still need a good nodes builder though.

Does anyone know if DR SLEEP is still around, I had a link to his web site but I lost all my bookmarks recently

" All we did was post some news about."
=========================================
Not exactly. All "we did" was assemble a bunch of guys with an axe to grind and try to muckrake and flame.

Then "we" got pissed because it was funny to me that they said such silly things. Tom especially was a laff a minute. Yes, I was having fun playing with their cheap shots - like the guy that posted this - present a biased statement and then pretend -"what me?" - such an original tactic.

I can have an opinion just like anyone else, besides having a bit more inside knowledge of the code than anyone posting in those threads.

And I sure as hell don't loose my ethics and post private emails to try to distort things even more. That was something else.

Not only does it show a total lack of ethics, it's the tactic of a baby for refusing to carry on a factual debate in PRIVATE.

It was clear I was trying to explain to the Frenchman that he's not understanding what I'm saying. Otherwise why did I write that non-flaming story in the forum and the email? THINK.

Yes, I introduced the subject poorly, but only because I've had several email discussions with Frenchmen and they somehow twist English into something that was not said.

Besides having no clue what "bad faith" is, "pretentions" is what they did. Clearly his English is not perfect. Another reason for me to conclude he probably reads the same as he writes - not very clear stuff.

Mob tactics and bullying are not something that I would brag about. That's what Doomworld groupies turn into when they get challenged. Don't know about here - probably the same.

If anyone wants to have a factual discussion, glad to. Like comparing how to do things. But not a flaming denial war.

X-DOOM's "hate" statement is typical of the kind of nonsense I have no interest in (ask him what nationality he is and see my point).

"Him" is a program and hardly worth spending energy hating http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif Have fun.

You really dont know when to stop do you? That big hole you dug for yourself over at doomworld just got a great deal DEEPer when you made that extremely personal attack on X-DOOM. Here at NewDoom we are a close knit bunch and X-DOOM is seen as a friend by most of us. I would suggest you make an apology but I know that goes against your arrogant nature.
We all know X-DOOM is French/Canadian and we accept and respect him as such.
Its just as well for you that not many people visit this editing forum.

There you go again Mystic - ranting from the mouth hoping something will stick.

I can only assume nobody ever challenges your B.S. The underlying events were as I listed - interpretations and distortions not withstanding.

You just got pissed that I called you on a lie. In fact, you still can't get over it. It's should be easy to prove I'm wrong about the DeeP saving issue by showing that what I wrote is wrong (you are slowly changing the story on this though - my how you forget).

But what I wrote is not wrong is it? That's why you are keeping this up.

(You should ask Julian to apologize. It's clear you never will, since you justify your lack of ethics by stating more lies here.)

In the context of this thread (referring to the Doomworld thing), Julian completely missed my point and couldn't believe I was challenging him. As I wrote to him, for some reason, French and English translations seem to collide (I don't know why - just that they do - I already listed 2 unusual choices of words that I really don't understand).

There was NEVER a personal attack on X-DOOM at DOOMWORLD - more Mystic fantasies.

X-DOOM insists on using "him", even though he claims to know "him" is not needed. Then he "flames" here and somehow he's sacred? Sorry boys, a flame is a flame.

Your comment is a total fabrication in an attempt to start a flame thing. In fact, I answered "hims" question on DOOMWORD didn't I! (And using "him" like that is a little joke - so back off.)

It's $$sses like you try to make something out of a little joke where he uses "him" to talk about programs. The original flamer on Doomworld didn't even READ my original post (too lazy) and then you and others tried to perpetuate it.

It's a simple mob/bully attack, like in the Frankenstein movie. Sad to see, but it's exactly the same kind of thing one sees in Israel/Palestine conficts.

So relax Mystic, see the dr and send me that email you NEVER sent. I'd love to receive it.

Love and kisses.

The personal attack on X-DOOM I refer to is in your post above, not in the flamewar you orchestrated over at doomworld, I am already tired of going over the facts of the problems I experienced with deep, they dont matter to me anymore as I use another fine editor (DETH) for my wads. And no I wont be sending another email to you as I cant be arsed.
I think the people reading these posts already know it is not in my nature to make up lies so you are just wasting time trying to tar me with that brush, just go away and leave us in peace.

Stop this useless fight.

A wise man is the one who uses the best features of ANY thing that can be used, including DeepSea.

Mystic, you may not be lying but I doubt that was a bug in DeePsea/Deep. It sounds too weird. Maybe your system's messed up or your other editor was having a problem. If it was his editor it might just be something that happened on your box. His attack on X-Doom was kind of nasty though. I think his writing style might have something to do with these flame wars always starting. I've been reading all his posts here and many of his arguements sound valid even though he gets a bit nasty with words sometimes. I know you're not a liar, but your comments aren't convincing him.

I remember Mystic having problems with his wad.
Saying someone is lying when they mention a bug or problem with your software is not a very professional attitude.
Just because you can't recreate the problem on your own machine doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Gods I hate when I have to do this...

@Deepteam: I understand that DeepSea is your creation, and that naturally you feel very proud of all the work and effort that you have put into one of the most powerful and versatile editing tools available, and that's cool. Ya gotta realise however that DeepSea is not for everyone, and that everyone has thier individual preferences, depending on thier own tastes (for example, I prefer WadAuthor and Wintex myself, because I find them both extremely easy and vesitle to use). Calling X Doom's statement a "hate" statement is going a bit too far however, I doubt that he meant it the way you think he did. And about the French thing...my wife and daughter both have French blood, do you hate them as well? I don't know what it is that you seem to have against the French, because I have never seen you refer to them in anything other than in a derogatory manner.

Si vous ne voyez pas que n'importe ce que le pays nous sont de celui nous avons chacun des ans dans la vue de Dieu, alors je ne sentons rien mais la pitié pour votre cécité.

@Gemini and Mystic:It's in VERY poor taste to refer to a crack for a programme that puts food on his table, in a public forum. Talk about it somewhere in private, such as by email or something, not here.

Thanks mystic, good call. It seems like this whole thing is going downhill fast, and I'm trying to put the brakes on it before it gets worse than it already has.

What I fail to understand is why deepteam brought the flamewar over here, unless I missed something...I have to admit that I got disgusted with the whole mess in doomworld some time ago. I can see where he's coming from, but jeez I wish the whole thing would die already...

No, he said somewhere at Doomworld that the money he makes from DeeP is like something less than a dollar an hour.

Yeah, it's dumb. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm43.gif

Mystic was probably trying to be useful with what he reported. It doesn't seem to make much sense, but that's okay. Deepteam went way overboard with that flame thing. Once he got Mystic mad, he couldn't stop either (it's that Scottish blood. I've got it myself. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm1.gif )

It seems deepteam thought we all gathered here to blast him just because most of us responded saying we don't use/like DeePsea. It obviously wasn't the case. I didn't even know who he was before I came to this topic.

I'll just keep trying to do my part and be nice to everyone. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm30.gif
