If you break up your door tracks into strips, with half of them pegged, and half of them unpegged, it can create a interesting effect. It would make the it appear that elements of the track are working to raise the door.

I do concurr :P ... but then again.. it all depends on the level theme... if you are in a disrepair tech base.. then it might fit... but generally .. yes.. it looks like crap *burn*

Tell me, do you intentionally search for old topics to be dug again? Sure it has been an interseting conversation, but It's nearly FOUR years old.

i like doortracks to be unpegged. sometimes they move no matter what you do, like split doors for example.
btw, BUMP RECORD i think.

There should be threads from 2000 somewhere, too. First one to bump one of those gets a cookie.

I still don't understand the general anger caused by bumping old threads. Only shitty part is trying to figure out what it was all about.
Doortraks look wrong when they scroll; they weren't meant for that look. Building doors with interior polls that rise up slightly more slowly is fun. It looks like a locking mechanism.

I still don't understand the general anger caused by bumping old threads.
I need to supply my constant requirement of being mean.
Also, saying something that somebody had already said, doesn't contribute to the thread. It MAY be acceptable in "new" threads, but in my opinion, one should have a proper question or something intelligent to comment when resurrecting old threads. While this thread is so damn old, I don't find it too illegal to start a new one. A fresh one.

their useful for some things though (lower unpegged) due to being able to show movement of objects, like machinery which you may put into your .wad, upper unpegged has a purpose too better than being secretive and surprising you that the wall is moving when looking like its not. i forgot the reason but i know there it one :P

It looks stupid when they move up with the door, I don't like it and don't use it too.

Dude, this is the strangest question I have ever heard on newdoom.
I like unpegged, not pegged, just like all the other people. Now, as you scroll across the board, look at all these people saying "I don't like pegged." Just for advice, I would suggest that you put up a better poll next time.

upperunpegged is VERY useful, like when you lower a ceiling, the texture's unaligned, all you have to to it upper unpeg it and go in 3d mode (doom builder) and press "a" for auto align, and its done :)

Sorry for the 5 day bump (as if you care after the 4 year bump :P), but I thought this looked kinda neat:

Doesn't work for me, crashes in both Legacy and Doomsday.
Now as for this zombie thread I thought about it, and after thinking about it for a good long while, about 4 years I think, I have decided that I definitely don't like doortrak pegging. That was one tough decision. ;)

Sorry, I edit mostly for ZDoom based ports and I forgot to change the level format back to the standard Doom format. If you have ZDoom, ZDaemon, or SKulltag tucked away you can view it with that. Sorry again.
