View Full Version : REoL TOUGH, ZDooM, and Slopes

First, thanks to X-Doom and Nightmare for helping me on getting the slopes to work in ZDooM. I fould out I was almost doing them right in ZETH, but didn't realize the 1'st and 2'nd arguments were suposed to be 1 or 0. http://forums.newdoom.com/ubb/smile.gif
I'm using ZETH as the editor of choice, and am deleting Wadauthor. I played with it and realized, this editor is one of those editors that like the others I've used, does everything backwards, the way I build maps, causing currupt PWAD files.
Anyhoo, I got slopes! Anyway, here's some bad news:
I found no more than 2 slopes can be put together. 3 of more causes weird results, and really phucks up the map, BSP-wise.
Slopes DO help in the formation of peaks and valleys, and some angled windows you've seen in the past, ala Lord of the Cyberdemons.
As for arches, the X-treme Detail(tm) concept still applies. I was hoping slopes could've reduced sector counts, but results were butt-ugly, because ZDooM cannot handle more than 2 slopes together when making arches. You can have a 5-sector arch, but those are ugly as sin.

No I got to remember how to make doors and lifts the HeXeN way. http://forums.newdoom.com/ubb/smile.gif I'll plug away at that. I'm close to getting them to work.

You're welcome, X-DooM, and being I changed a future BooM map over to ZDooM that's relatively new, there won't be shots for awhile.

I don't think there is something of that nature, as I looked into it. Why does ZDooM have swim controls, if they don't even WORK?
