Doom Editing Tutorials

I was wondering where people could go to pick up a few good editing tutorials for Doom. I can't say I've ever seen that many.

When it comes to editing Half-Life I can easily find nearly any tutorial for that game because sites exist that cover just tutorials. So where the heck are all the editing tutorials for Doom? I don't need any right now but it would be nice to know where they're all hidden!

Well, there are some good links to sites at doomworld in the editing section, and a couple of ones by mordeth (I think) who is pretty good at it all. The best stuff is by Ikka 'Fingers' Keranen, although I can't remember where that was. I think I found his stuff from the same place.

I remembered another one, which was mainly for DOOM levels but then changed to include DOOM II.

By the way, I should mention that the above tutorial is tailored towards an editor like ZETH (which can be downloaded from the Zdoom Site) and not those "automatic" editors like WADauthor or DEEPsea.

It is probably hard to get now, but I found the book, 3D Game Alchemy, extremely useful for learning to edit pwad for DooM. It also has lets you know how to edit for Heretic and Hexen. When I bought the book, it cost me $30.00, but I saw it in a local computer book store a couple of months ago for only $5.00.

Amazing how all the information dissapears when Quake came along.

In case you are interested, I am adding a skin making tutorial to the Epidermis Emporium as part of my update coming at the end of this week.

It's my own screwy little method for making skins. It may not be the best method for making skins, but it is the one that works for me.

Hey cool! I will be gearing up a page on my site that will organize all these "DooM editing tutorials with links and info. That's after I get Vilecore finished. I have a few tutorials of my own to gear up too, mostly in the "Texture Alignment" area.

I used to have some tutorials on how to do psychedelic tricks like building s that appear out of the sky, and such things like that, as well as an easy version of breakable windows.
Oh well. Those were the days....

Actually, I just told people how the tricks were done if they were asked, and sometimes had a smaple PWAD too (usually an actual map).
