Editing Vector Glitches

Don't you hate it when editing and two vectors get too close and then bang, Your whole map is *)&&*%$%() Grrrrrrr

What editor are you using? And can't you just undo what you do?

Thats another reason why you gotta make backup copies in case something ****s up?

Backups are the rule. Everytime I make anything of any size I save it on my hard-drive, then onto Zip and finally onto floppy.

I find sometimes you have to work with the editor and move vertices and lindefs, so that weird errors get eliminated.

I always make back up's and yes you can undo them, but it is still a bloody pain in the ass

Ya, it sure is a pain in de_butt. At least it's easier to fix a Doom editing problem than trying to figure out a Half-Life / Worldcraft problem.

That's ok...........I have other wads to work on. I do wonder how other peoples 10 sectors wads came out. Hopefully a cool Megawad will come from outta the contest.

Now that I think about it, A magawad made from 320 sectors sounds... Boring. Unless you intered it, there is no point getting it. It will suck big ass. "oh the fun of running around room after room of the same thing" (sarcasm).

And Zack even if you had a v5 5500 or better, you could always sell it to someone how hasn't got one. Those things are dear!

True, true. I wonder how much my voodoo2 will sell for now? I haven't used it in a long time.

Once I made a 20 sector wad that was pretty neat. If I reduced the millions of enemies, it'd be a nice, playable level (not an experiment.)

In the Old Days, making a crecent-shaped room resulted on awkward wall placement, and tons of invisible walls. The automap looked like a scribble a 2-year-old would draw on paper.
Worse yet, you'd build something in a way that BSP would puke upon loading.

Or worse, too many secotrs and/or monsters. VPO, or savegame failure.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'd let you try the level out, but since I submitted it, it doesn't belong to me any more. Unless of course Ling didn't get my email. I don't know if it will make it into the planned megawad or not. If it doesn't, I'll probably be able to make it available for download. Then you guys can check it out and make fun of it and stuff :)

The goods and bads of a wad? Er...suure......

I just know the good and bad wads. Black Tower by sverre kvernmablobosomething, SlugFest, the one with the authors picture at the end, and Hoover Dam. Those three wads lead to a happy life.

Tomorrow, I am going to be assisting the teachers at Hebrew school for grades K-7. I'm gonna teach them all there is to know about Doom. Or Avadon, in Hebrew http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif
