Just played the map http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif It's absolutely awesome and I'm looking forward to a complete replacement of Doom2 http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Thanx Tormentor667! I don't know at this point if I will do anymore DooM replacement wads. It was cool to work on map02 and I think I learned something from it all. I do have to complete Vilecore 2.0 first before considering doing anything else, plus I started a new map. Time will tell I guess if I do decide to or not make more remakes.. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/wink.gif

I started anouther Legacy wad. This one is my own design in a Gothic theme. Gonna test out some foggy effects pretty soon.

Well, I commented on this one already. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

I just got my map into a semi-playable state. It lacks an exit switch but that's trivial. Now I just have to make some bits look good, make sure it flows nicely and do the monsters/items.

However, this is not the case with TED's fill routine. This slow, stupid algorithm will casually fill one plane of data in a painfully creeping manner. Press ESC when it gets confused." - John Romero on TED (Tile EDitor)

Gonna work on it some more today and see if I can't tie up the last bits so they look nice and such.

My map has lots of cases where you have to backtrack through long places and may involve a bit of searching for people new to it. I'll have to test that and maybe find ways to shorten some of the walks between areas.

Good, cause you get to do piles of it in this map. Makes up for the fact I couldn't figure out how to make it any bigger without ruining it. Lots of darkness though. The light level in an area almost never goes above 128. Some people are going to complain that bits of my map are near totally dark but it's just better that way. Much scarier.

Bright levels usually don't appease to me as much...unless it's absolutely necessary, like outdoors or lots of torches around or something like that.

Hehehe Thank ye. I can't wait to play your darkness infested maps. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Speaking of dark maps.. Just play JDooM. I like how it makes a lot of levels look darker.

Oh and my Hellpitt Temple is looking more hellish and darker. Gotta like darkness.... though you gotta have some contrast with the light. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/wink.gif Just started doing more on map18 Doomed Castle and I'm making these dark ashwall type areas. Dark stuff is fun. Only thing that ticks me off is those gl flickering dots. heh.
