What a dumb-ass. He recently discovered a topic Darknation had made in the Letacy forum about some TC he was building. It was odd because nobody had replied at all even though it was a really long post. Ninja only brought the topic up to make fun of Darknation. That got lots of people really really mad.

Then Jive said he wanted Darknation to get another chance here. Eventually Darknation showed up somewhere and basically said he doesn't want to come back here and corrected us on some facts about his past. Then he was gone again, never to return.

The whole thing was pretty crazy. What's funny is the flames forum at Team DeiM is Darknation's.

She needs them forever as a matter of fact. It just takes a long time to get used to them and you don't get the full dosage right away. It takes a month with an upage in the dosage every 3 days till you reach the full thing. Only then do you start to get used to them and it'll still take sometime after that. I can't imagine how hard it must be to be sleepy and tired for an entire month and then some.

Getting the lighting just right is the trickiest bit. I'm going to add the coronas like Ebola did with Nimrod and lots of ambient sounds too. There's also going to be scripted vents (if I'm clever enough) and nice looking water (not much of that). I've got lots of 3D floors already.

The only reason my first maps were single player was because I didn't have a way of trying or testing deathmatch. I'd never tried it before.

I kept importing them so the transparencies were gimped or they were scaled wrong or didn't show. Wintex makes so much more sense for that. Since Ebola said I can't use his though I have to replace them. Easy with Wintex!

I ended up having to use XWE to fix a texture issue. Wintex let me make the change ut wouldn't save it for some reason.

Well XWE works fine for me and I've been messing with lots of textures with no probs. I like that I can replace a texture with an updated version with just a few clicks.

New versions of Wintex don't come with the old dll stuff and you can't find the old versions anymore. That Wintex guy is a fool.

I cursed XWE!!!!!!!!!

I grabbed the new version, 1.10 and it started screwing up my new doom flats so that they looked like tutti frutti and whatnot in the game. 1.10 was setting them off the 0 / 0 grid or something... Anyhow I couldn't fix it till I deleted the olde version and reinstalled 1.08 Now everything is fine. Go figure. I'm not doing so well with upgrading my software as of late.

Okay we know that the DoomCad authors name is Matt Tagliaferri. I did a search of that name and found this page:

The guy is a programmer and wrote level design books for Duke and Quake. He also made a Quake editor called qED. His Unreal mod site is dead.... If I had qED i could look in the txt / readme to see if theres any credit for doing DoomCad. Ummmmm it seems very possible this is the same Matt, yet why he doesn't mention DoomCad on that site remain a mystery. Ugh I dunno. I got no answer from him......
