Hi Deathgiver! Sorry I only noticed your post just now. I'm taking Vilecore and reworking each map with new architecture / some sprite changes / tons of new textures and so Vilecore will become Vilecore 2.0

So what did you mean 'will Vilecore2.0 be a 2 1/2D Megawad?

Hey Doom_Dude just thought I'd let you know that after checking Vilecore in DeePsea it found a pile of errors to do with excess sidedefs, excess sector tags, and unclosed sectors. Better check these for the next version. They can cause nasties with some engines. If DoomCAD won't do all that nicely then you can send me the wad before you release it and I'll do it with DeePsea.

Yeah, try getting the shareware DeePsea and opening the first map then running checks on it. There are errors.

What about after running ZenNode on it???? Hmmm? Those original maps were made using DoomCads crappy nodebuilder so I'm not surprised. Try checking my Lavapitt Temple was please. I don't want to get DeepSea shareware again because It wasn't anything I liked...

The problem has nothing to do with the nodes. I ran ZenNode on my copy of Vilecore before the first time I played it. The problems are most likely caused by DoomCAD's way of dealing with wad structures when you edit the map. It probably doesn't have nearly as good error checking and correction as DeePsea. The unclosed sector errors might actually affect the way the nodes get built in ZenNode. The other errors shouldn't usually cause a problem except some wasted space in the file.

For the record Templecore and Chasmcore both complain about extra sidedefs (shouldn't cause an issue in the game). DeePsea doesn't like all your custom texture names either. How did you even get all those to work? Did you use Wintex or XWE?

It doesn't recognize them properly. It whined about not being able to find the floor and ceiling textures with funny new names. They work in the game so I wouldn't be bothered about them.

Well, I'm not quite sure. I didn't see any funny-looking ones so I imagine they were sectors with an extra sidedef stuck on somewhere for something you thought was over-written or deleted. Fixing the extra sidedefs will probably solve the problem.

I know lots of people without cutes. Rellik doesn't have one. Neither do most of my friends IRL.

Life is pretty damn long these days so you'll both probably find another cute. All the cutelessness in between probably makes you wiser too. I think it did to me. I could have had Cute 4 years ago but I didn't and I got smarter for it.

I may or may not, who knows? Anyhow the cutes start thinning out after awhile as you get older because they get married or run off to some strange land or they have some weird Ex you don't want to get tangled with. LOL. Anyhow I'm not too worried about it all. It does suck to be cuteless but there's far worse things to be burdened with and I'm glad not to have any of that junk hanging over my head......

Ok time for more Vilecore editing. I can't stop adding new rooms and stuff to this map07 jobby. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

It's even better now methinks and some of the rooms are xtras that the player doesn't have to go into to finish the map. I'm wondering if I should put in a large cargo area beyond this big door I made. I kinda put in this big 'fake' door that leads nowheres (right now it leads noplace) because it made sense at the time. Hmmmmmmm what to do I wonder?

Hey, wej spelt backwards is "jew". Hehe, yet another in-joke about the word Jew I can share with my friend from a Jewish family. Our other one is "Jew box". His brother asked his mom one day if he could have a juice box and I thought he said Jew box. Then we started calling hospitals Jew boxes because there are a lot of Jewish doctors around here it seems. We mean no harm on the Jews (especially since he technically is one) but it's kinda funny. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

LOL There aren't too many bugs in Vilecore. There are lots of things you could debate in the look but the gameplay is really good. I like playing it a lot better than Plutonia or Evilution and vast parts of DooM II. It comes close to rivalling Knew Deep in the Dead, which is the best commercial DooM stuff ever (for PC since I haven't played the console games).
