The director's cut hasn't got Ford's voice over, different ending and a couple of other minor scene changes.
Some people like it better, I think each version has it own merits.

Film companies decided to split the world up into 6 regions (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/help/dvd-vhs-format-no-links.html/104-2171974-7336712) for releasing DVDs. USA Region1, Europe/Japan Region 2, etc
Normally a DVD from one region will not play on DVD hardware in another.
Which would be okay if the DVD's from each region where the same, but intially the American DVDs tended to have more features, more titles, its not so bad now.
So I got my DVD player chipped so I can watch any region DVDs.

Well, I heard from Cute. This time it made me pretty happy and it made me pretty sad. Turns what may happen here is similar to Melfice's problem but I don't think this one will be a win-win situation either way. I really don't know what I should be thinking now so I may seem detached, out of it, and maybe a few other things for a while here. At least until my brain/heart processes all this stuff.
