It all sounds pretty ludicrous to me. Glad I'm not her though. They make such a big deal out of her painkillers being a morphine derivative, but that's actually really common. So is Tylenol 3. Shouldn't that bit be cleared up by now anyway. They keep saying she had a prescription so all they'd have to do is check with her doctor (or the place where she bought the stuff).

Heh, that game is pretty looking. They still haven't fixed the bug though with the VIS process causing the diagonal shadows to be like staircases. You can see it on the wall behind her. Wonder when some company other than Id is going to do something other than cosmetic changes to an engine. The only thing correcting that bug should affect is map compile times, which of course don't affect the player.

I'm done my techno rant now. Have fun.

I looked at the bunker map in the Goldeneye mod for HL and whoever made that map didn't use any damn texture lights. The corridors have lights all the way down them, but he used entities to light them so it looks really crappy. Funny cause the archives map looked really cool.

Yeah I'm picky. Look at all the stuff I told you about Vilecore. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif I've always been like that. No wonder I only ever released two maps. I'm even picky about those now.

How about the one where the light always shines through the doors? It was in the released version of HL but one of the Valve guys, Zoner, rewrote all the compile tools and included a fix for that one. I've made maps without that bug, but it popped up again in RTCW. That means Carmack never bothered with it for the Q3 engine. It's probably not that hard to do either.

Yikes. I always notice that damn staircase-ish bug in Quake but never mentioned it before...I guess I felt I was able to shrug it off. But now that I think about it, it is pretty annoying.

With all the hype about the awesome lighting in Doom "3" I'll bet that "staircase" shadow bug will be gone come its release http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

It was gone in the alphas. DooM III's lighting engine is totally different.

I know. Nobody will even have to worry about a bug like that...

Come to think of it, with this brand new realtime lighting system in Doom...I wonder what strange new graphical bugs will appear?

I dunno. The videos we've seen look really good. Just like the animation in Toy Story and the Disney stuff. I wouldn't say it looked as advanced as Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. But then again I'm relying on some low-quality movie that's now over a year old. Even Rellik's an unreliable source now http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

The DooM graphics were more advanced than Pixar's stuff in many respects. The bump maps were cool. I've never seen that Final Fantasy movie so I don't really know about that though. At any rate DooM will be the most advanced game there is in the graphics area.

Except for the human beings and aliens, you won't be able to tell the difference between real life and the amazing detail in the scenes in FF. The characters though, could have used a lot of work. They looked like ventriloquist dummies to me, and never smiled. Well...they tried to smile but it looked gross. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm27.gif

Damn, the MIDI file coming through my stereo just skipped! I heard the other comp's HD go for a second when it happened too. Why does Windows do that?!?!?

I bet Doom "3" would be able to do a great Lara Croft. That is, better than the crappy models in the actual Lara games.

Hey, then we can have a REAL save Lara adventure! http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

Well...almost real...since it's still within the limits of a computer screen...

But if Lara croft pisses you off then that means you like Lara Croft at a negative amount. Which means your Cute pisses you off 10000000000000000000000000000 times more http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

No, because I like my girlfriend better. What you said is like saying that -5 + 7 is a negative number. 10000000000000000000000 times better means this:

|like for Lara| * 10000000000000000000000000

Gotta love absolute value notation! http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Their loss. Next time they should purchase a meter stick and not a 12" ruler.

I agree with you that the metric system is better. We are using it all the time in Physics and never that other one and I'm surprised NASA would do something like that.

What I want to know is, don't NASA usually test things out in a simulator first?? Then they'd have been able to catch the flaw...
