I've started work on my next latest wad! It'll hopefully be a nice coop map! the map is so far only one room, and I'm still working on that room. Anywhoo, I'll be posting screenshots and such, so stay tuned.

That's great!

Are you plaaning on something special?

I was hoping to make something original, but that's kinda hard to do with doom nowdays. Every idea, every plan has already been done before, and Im sure there are lots of maps using 3d floors, fraggle script, and such. But there's nothing I can truely do to make a completely original map.

There hasn't been much work done on the map so far, so dont expect any screenshots of it soon. There will be alot of heretic/hexen textures used in my wad (yeah, mainly because Hexen textures are sexy! heheh
http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smilies/cwm20.gif ) So there you have it, some info on my wad (not much). More coming soon.

there's currently one screenshot there, and Im not sure if the texture usage in that room is permanant! Aren't you glad you ahve me to give out screenshots of my wad when all it is at the moment is a blob? and by looking at the screentshot, yes, that platform up there is a 3d floor. I intended that way

Actually, aligning the sides of 3D floors isn't always possible.

You know you adjust them with the offsets just like you do with any wall, right? http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/tongue.gif

LOL@Rellik

If something don't fit you gotta force it. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/tongue.gif

THere was one time where that didn't work for me.

Problem is you can have multiple 3D floors stacked up but you only get one texture with one x,y offset set to adjust. You may not be able to force the alignment no matter what you do.

I tried aligning textures on a 3d floor once, but it didn't work. So I assumed it wasn't possible.

And along came this topic...

The alignment forcing thing was a joke. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/tongue.gif

Of course it's possible. It's all math. If you use some weird sector heights that don't match the dimensions of the textures your using, then things are gonna look borked.

Why when adding my FS file, and trying to test it with someone, it gives a save game corrupted error?

Aliotroph?

Not sure, never saw that before.

Actually, sometimes the textures on 3D floors refuse to move no matter what you do with offsets.

I always use proper sector heights like 128, 32, 384, etc., but the last time I made a 3d floor, it still wasn't aligned. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/frown.gif

You just gotta play with offsets / pegging but you can move them around. Using BOOM's 255 linetype you can make them scroll too. Just in the last version vertical scrolling started working again so it's all good now. http://forums.newdoom.com/UBB/smile.gif

Alright, well someone told me that it was because of the items being spawned in the starting room that was caused by the multiplayer 'saved game corrupted' thing. He set it on a different map and then went back to map01 and it worked... I dont get why it would crash though.
