It doesn't quite work like that.

The easiest way is to download csDoom, run the client portion and then join the server which has any players.

However, for some obscure reason most servers are stuck on map01 or map07. Personally, I like the wad BRIT11.wad, which can be found at cdrom.com.

From time to time I run the server "WALHALLA", but so far I have had no takers.

You need administrator privileges to get it to work on windows 2000. Read the doc.
