i have noticed when i join tcp ip threw the launcher that it shows more information about what the server is doing ... in a way i think if you join in the game with the multi player option it should take you to the console anyway like quake/ other games this way you can see the status and other stuff .. i noticed tho that it was downloading the doom3.wad and i already have it in my download folder ... why does it do this ??? also hurdler i was thinking why is it that when ppl download they get almost all of the hosts bandwith... ? this just about kills the game each time 1 person joins it goes so slow when somebody joins .. the only thing i can suggest is perhaps limiting the downloader to half of the bandwith of the host, is this possable ? of cource not complaining or mad at all im just happy to get to play at all... just offering ideas ... http://forums.newdoom.com/ubb/smilies/cwm32.gif

The time on your doom3 file is different. Try selecting "No file time checking" to fix this.

You guys are sometime very funny.

You say the site need to be updated, and when I update it, it seems you don't read it. The answer to that question is on top of the "what's new" section!

I don't say you need to check all the pages everyday, but the "what's new" section is where we talk about things revelant to all people who are using Doom Legacy. The forum is ok as well, but not all Legacy users read it. So, if we have something important to say, that's done there on the Legacy web site.

Ok,
FYOI, we are working on a better way to check if wads are identical on both sides, so that command will become obsolete soon http://forums.newdoom.com/ubb/wink.gif

Would not a checksum do? Those are very easy to calculate, and quick to transmit.

yep, it's a checksum (md5 is what we choosed). Probability that 2 different files have the same checksum code is very very low.
