Boingo the Clown

Here it is. The votes for the Legacy idea lists have been talied.
Sadly, the response to the lists has not been great. Only 8 responses were sent to me. Although all of them contained votes for items on my own list, votes for items on the other lists were much fewer. Teppic's list received votes from only one person, and so this list is not represented here. http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/frown.gif
Due to the small number of votes, many of the ideas were tied. Because of this, the originally intended top ten list has been expanded to the top fifteen. Listed with each idea is its average rating (1-5), and the number of votes that the idea received. X4 and B26 both made the list, but because they were in fact the same idea, they appear as a single idea on the list.
I tried to keep the explanations of the ideas short. Consult the original lists for better explantions if you are not clear.
~~~~~~~~~~
1. B23 (Boingo) Visual Weapons (VWEPS)
Average Rating: 4.75 (7 votes)
When a player changes weapon, Legacy will change his skin to indicate what weapon he is holding.
(Note: I am already working on marine skins for this purpose, albeit slowly.)
~~~~~~~~~~
2. DN2 (Dark Nation) Floor Splats
Average Rating: 4.60 (5 votes)
Bullet holes in the floor, pools of blood, bloody footprints, etc.,
~~~~~~~~~~
3. DN3 (Dark Nation) Flying Body Parts
Average Rating: 4.60 (5 votes)
When a monster (or the player) is gibbed, it slits into multiple sprites (representing various body parts), which are thrown like projectiles in random directions.
~~~~~~~~~~
4. X4/B26 (Xenos/Boingo) High Resolution Sprites
Average Rating: 4.58 (12 votes. Combined votes from both lists.)
Users should be allowed to create sprite with a higher resolution than those currently used by DooM. Objects with the higher resolution will apper less coarse on screen than current sprites.
~~~~~~~~~~
5. B7 (Boingo) Poly Objects
Average Rating: 4.43 (7 votes)
Legacy should use poly objects like those used in Hexen.
(Note: I had also suggested a type of poly object that could be used for ROR. However, Legacy has already added something similar.)
~~~~~~~~~~
6. B11 (Boingo) Spawn Table
Average Rating: 4.43 (7 votes)
The Spawn table allows users to define objects spawned by monsters.
(For a better explanation, see the original list.)
~~~~~~~~~~
7. B14 (Boingo) J.A.F.O.s (Just Another F*cking Observer)
Average Rating: 4.43 (7 votes)
A J.A.F.O. is a third party observer who enters the game, but does not interact with the players. The J.A.F.O. would be invisible, could not be shot, and could not shoot or block the players. J.A.F.O.s could act as referees, or record demos, thereby functioning like TV cameras at sporting events.
~~~~~~~~~~
8. B6. (Boingo) Expanded Frame Table
Average Rating: 4.33 (6 votes)
Would allow designers of TCs to create more animations (= more monsters http://www.newdoom.com/ubb/wink.gif) or smoother animations.
~~~~~~~~~~
9. F4 (Toxic Fluff) Support for 16/32 Bit Textures
Average Rating: 4.33 (3 votes)
Would allow designers to produce better textures.
~~~~~~~~~~
10. F6 (Toxic Fluff) Scripts for Coronas/Dynamic Lighting
Average Rating: 4.33 (3 votes)
Allows user to create scripts specifying which frames use coronas or dynamic lighting, and what size/colour/opacity these effect will have.
~~~~~~~~~~
11. B5 (Boingo) Expanded Thing Table
Average Rating: 4.29 (7 votes)
Allows developers to create more monsters, scenery objects, etc.,
~~~~~~~~~~
12. DN5 (Dark Nation) Ejected Objects
Average Rating: 4.25 (5 votes)
Similar to blood code. Allows players to eject shells, as weel as other interesting effects.
~~~~~~~~~~
13. X8 (Xenos) Fix the BFG
Average Rating: 4.25 (4 votes)
Change the BFG effect so that it occurs in a cone centred around the direction the player is looking, not just straight ahead.
~~~~~~~~~~
14. B25 (Boingo) Monster Paths
Average Rating: 4.14 (7 votes)
Create special objects that control the direction in which a monster is moving. Can be used to set up monster patrols, or allow monsters to escape from dead ends.
~~~~~~~~~~
15. F14 (Toxic Fluff) Multiplayer Chase Cam
Average Rating: 4.00 (3 votes)
Set up a chase cam in multiplayer that chases the other players.
