Hello!
I'a not a professional WAD-designer, but the only thing that came into my mind was this:
Do you have correct arrangements made for the shooter? The Boss-shooter and the spawn spots for the cubes? I just thought that if the game crashes when the shooter should release a cube, there might be something wrong with the spawn spots, maybe? Is this possible? The final "boss-thing", the head, isn't necessary or is it? Perhaps someone more experienced should clarify this?

Doom CAD is trash. Use wad author, DCK, or Deep. Doom CAD is the shittiest editor i have ever used. It crashes all the time. It has the slowest and hardest sector adding. Its error checking sux. It doenst have an auto run feature. It cant join objects. Its just trash. Use another editor and save yourself a shitload of time.

toke: he didn't ask for editor advice. Doomcad crashes like a ***** yes- but it all depends on what version you use. Doomcad 5.1 crashed less for me back when I used it (5 years ago) than wadauthor does now. But all windows editors crash ridiculously.
Anyway to answer your question, the guy who replied at number #1 was spot on, you need to put in boss spawner arrival points.

Jon: I was just trying to save him some time and frustration. I wish someone had told me how horable doomCAD was so when i see someone useing it try to help them out. WadAuthor has NEVER crashed on me. You probably have something wrong in your windows setup or had some shity prog running the background that caused it to crash.

No, I don't run '**** progs'. If there is a conflict between wadauthor and another piece of running software, then it must be winsock or xircon or something else and as such having trouble running side-by-side with these programs is a trait that I would consider '**** '.
Wadauthor **** **** **** !

settle down jon, maybe you overclocked your computer too much or your processor is overheating and you are getting miscalculations. Why is it that wadauthor crashes for you and not for me? The only programs that ever crash on my comp is csdoom and psp5 and thats is because of program bugs.

I promise you there is nothing fundamentally wrong with my box, or perhaps I'd experience problems with more than just one program. It appears I have version 1.20- is there a later one?

Im not sure, I dont have it on this comp. The one located at www.doomworld.com (http://www.doomworld.com) is the same version as the one on there site. I still beleave there is something different on your computer than on mine that causes this problem. The only program bug I found is that sometimes you get a crash caused by messing with a vertex error. Wadauthor never causes this error, you only have this problem with olders editors like doomed.
