Doom Legacy and Heretic

I have a problem with Doom Legacy and Heretic. When I try to start Legacy with Heretic.wad, I get an error along the lines of "You need Heretic.wad v1.9" even though that is the heretic wad I have. I cannot figure out what is wrong. Any Ideas?

Thats probally because legacy does not support heretic :P

try the doomsday engine (Jdoom, Jheretic and Jhexen)

If Legacy did not support Heretic, wouldn't it give a message that said so rather than the one I've been getting? BTW, I have version 1.29 release 7 right now. I moght pick up ver. 1.30 soon.

Obviously the error message is due to the fact that the program does not recognise the wad file as a doom wad file, and the default excuse is most like that it is the wrong version (no-one would bother to have a damn algorithm to check what version you have!), and it simply puts the name of the wad you entered (heretic.wad) followed by the version required to run legacy using either doom or doom2 (1.9).
